That evening was quiet in the dorms, there wasn't the usual racket from Itadori who would often piss off Megumi by knocking on the wall. You knew he'd do this because he'd also sometimes do it to you, you found it annoying yet somewhat cute. Yet tonight there was no sound of knocking, maybe he's just worn out, you thought to yourself.

Yuji was in fact refraining from knocking on you or Megumi's walls because he was too engrossed in his own thoughts, his mind kept thinking back to the words you had uttered in the forest, and every time he thought about you telling him you liked him his heart would beat faster and his face would flush up- he would also start kicking at his covers excitedly like a little kid.

Meanwhile, you were lying on your bed with a happy feeling and a smile stuck to your face. Truth was that you wanted to see Yuji again, you wanted to do the same thing that you did the night before, you felt suddenly lonely when you were in your room alone.

You had tried reading a book you'd end up going into a trance thinking about Yuji, snapping the book shut you rubbed your eyes- thinking about what you could possibly do to get these thoughts out of your head. It was then that you decided to do something you'd never thought you'd do, despite having confessed to Yuji how you felt (which was also something you'd thought would be impossible a few months ago). You grabbed your pillow and tip toed to Itadori's door before knocking on it lightly. You currently had on a long t-shirt- which was actually one you'd stolen from Yuji this time and a pair of shorts.

There was some rustling before the door opened, revealing a sleepy looking Yuji. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to-" You were about to turn around and walk away, due to the fact that you felt bad for waking him up, but he pulled your arm and brought you into his room.
"I wasn't asleep anyways." He muttered lying down on the bed, he patted the space next to him- indicating that you should lie down near him.
"Liar." You said bluntly before sitting down on his bed, Yuji felt the bed dip a little when you sat down so he grabbed your waist and pulled you down so that you were lying down in a warm embrace, your bodies pressed up against one another's.You smiled as you watched him relax and you turned around and wrapped your arms around his waist as well so that you were tangled in each other's heat.

That now familiar warm feeling was settling and making its way into your heart. You couldn't help but feel comfortable, even if it was just hugging.

Yuji on the other hand felt all of his stress from the day melt away, you were in his arms now and that's all that mattered. He couldn't believe that you had actually come to his room as well, when he had seen you there with your pillow and a cute look on your face he didn't want you to leave. He couldn't help but want to kiss you, so he lifted up your head gently and unwrapped his arms so that he could cup your face.

You looked up at him and smiled brightly, he wished you could see yourself when you did so. It was like you were warming up a hole in his chest, yes he wanted to save people, especially the ones he loved, but he wanted to protect you with every bone in his body. He wanted to protect that smile that was on your face, treasure it, so that no one could make you sad.

He leant down and pressed a soft kiss on your lips, leaning his forehead against yours. You looked at him and shook your head so that your noses rubbed against each other's affectionately.

"Love is a precious thing, you must learn to treasure it." Your mother said as she sat you down on her knee, you had been asking her questions about your dad and her and how they'd met. She'd told you that it was a funny story but that she'd tell you about it when you were a bit older and would be able to understand it better.
"Mummy what's love?" You asked her, tilting your head up so that you were staring directly into her eyes. She smiled at your innocence when you.
"There are different types of love, there's a type of love that's for friends and family which is when you want to protect them and you don't want anything bad to happen to them but you also feel like you couldn't live without them, and there's there's a special type of love that might come around once in a life time." She explained, running her hands through your hair.
"What's s-special love?" You asked curiously.
"It's when you love someone so much that you feel like your heart could explode, it's like how mummy loves daddy- that one person that makes your heart beat faster and when your with them it seems like the whole world fades away..." Her voice trailed off when she looked down at you, you had listened to every word that she had said but you were falling asleep. Your eyelids felt heavy and the last thing you heard before you shut them was: "You'll find that special love one day."

You smiled at the memory of your mother and the words she had spoken to you that evening. But your attention turned back to Yuji who had noticed you had dazed off. "What's on your mind?" He asked curiously, flipping you over so that you were lying on top of him- your face was snuggled into his chest comfortably.
"My mom." You replied with a sigh, he knew not to inquire due to what Gojo had told him about you so he nodded and ran his fingers through your hair like your mother had once done. You felt safe, and you didn't know how to thank him for it so you began tracing circles with your fingers on his chest.
"My dad hates me, he can't even look at me anymore." You blurted out, not thinking about the words that were coming out of your mouth until you had already said them.
"Why would he hate you?" Yuji asked, tucking a piece of your hair behind your ear so that he could see your face better. He took the opportunity to get to know you better, as he'd only been told about your past by Gojo, but he wanted to hear you tell him- it was a sign that you trusted him.
"He thinks I killed my mom...funny isn't it?" When you had said that you had placed your head on his chest so that he couldn't see the torn expression on your face. "I-I get nightmares about what happened that day, b-but I didn't do that to mom. When I opened the door she was already like that." You stuttered, it was weird talking about what had happened, you had never talked about this to anyone.

When Itadori lifted your face up so that it was facing him again he saw the tears running down your cheeks, wetting his shirt- not that he cared.

"I'll never let someone hurt you ever again." He muttered, pulling you back into a tight hug. You knew those words weren't true and that eventually you were going to get hurt one way or another but hearing them from his lips...you almost believed them.

Sighing, you snuggled your head into the nook of his shirt and fell into a light, but uninterrupted, sleep. Yuji on the other hand couldn't get a minute of shut-eye. On his mind were your words, your destroyed facial expression when he had lifted up your face again and the way your words shook as you opened up your heart to him. The whole scene was replaying in his head on loop.

Yuji looked down at you to see your face peacefully sleeping, your eyelids twitched every now and then which indicated to him that you were dreaming. He wondered what you could possibly be dreaming about, but before he could think anything else you got into a more comfier position, making little noises as you moved around in your sleep. He smiled down at you and placed a kiss on your forehead before placing an arm around your torso, he needed to actually feel that you were with him despite you being sprawled out on his chest. It was the only way he could calm down, he ended up falling asleep to the sound of your heart beating.
