Chapter 7

Harry's point of view

It had already been a week since I met Louis, everyone adored him and he seemed to fit into our group pretty well.

He seemed like a really bright and happy person around Niall and the others but I couldn't deny the very obvious change in his behaviour whenever Louis was around me.

He always seemed to hesitate and flinch when he was around me, almost like he was scared of me.

I kept wondering if I did something wrong to cause him to be scared of me but I just couldn't think of anything.

Curiosity kept creeping up on me but unless Louis himself told me, I guess I wouldn't find out the reason anytime soon.

The bell had signaled it was lunchtime so everyone practically sprinted to the cafeteria to get some much needed fuell into their bodies.

We had all been sitting down, talking about our group project for music when Louis suddenly stood up.

He told us he needed to grab some books from his locker before the next class started and after declining my invitation to come with him he took off.

Louis had only been gone for a couple of minutes but for some reason a very uneasy feeling started to grow in my abdomen, like something bad was about to happen.

Telling the boys I had to go to the bathroom I stood up and walked off but instead of going to the bathroom I went out to search for Louis.

While walking through the hallways the uneasy feeling started to grow more and more.

It felt like I had searched every hallway but Louis was nowhere to be found, that was until I rounded the last corner and my heart sank to my feet.

Louis was pinned to the lockers by an upperclassmen who just so happened to be an alpha.

He looked absolutely frightened, frantically trying to push the alpha away from him.

Of course this was to no avail as the alpha was way stronger than Louis was.

What came over me in that moment is a complete mystery but my vision went black as I growled and pounced on the other alpha.

After smashing the alpha to the ground and baring my canines as I kept growling at him, I raised my arm in preparation to beat the living daylight out of the person that dared to hurt Louis.

Just as I was about to start hitting him I heard Louis whimper in fear,the sound absolutely shattering my heart.

I froze in place, coming back to myself to see Louis sitting curled up on the ground shaking and frightened.

I tried to reach out my hand to comfort him, only to drop it again as soon as I saw Louis flinch.

I carefully told him I was sorry, that something had just snapped in me when I saw that bastard hurting him and that I didn't mean to scare or hurt him.

For a while I just studied Louis's reaction, he seemed to have calmed down a bit but I could smell he was still scared from the pheromones he kept giving off.

While keeping my eye on Louis I had completely forgotten about the alpha I had slammed to the ground moments prior.

Louis told me it was okay and silently thanked me for helping him, looking at the ground until a loud growl directed at Louis echoed through the hallway.

In the next moment something very unexpected happened, Louis stood up and ran over to me clinging onto my arm.

I carefully pushed Louis behind me and told him to quickly go and get the others as I growled at the alpha in front of me to keep him away long enough for Louis to leave.

Just as I could hear Louis's footsteps quickly starting to echo through the hallway the other alpha charged at me.

My eyes turned a vicious blood red as I started charging at the alpha too.

I had managed to land a couple of good hits on his face before the alpha pinned me to the ground.

At first I tried blocking his incoming hits but as time went on I found myself not even really trying anymore, that all changed when I heard Louis cry out my name in fear.

I growled one last time, throwing the other alpha off me before Liam came rushing to my side.

The other alpha must have realised he couldn't win this fight as he stepped back before rushing off down the hallway.

After taking a short moment to regain my breath I turned around, almost getting knocked back to the ground when my arms were suddenly filled with a crying Louis.

For some reason I could feel my alpha instinct kick in, screaming at me to hold this boy and protect him with everything I had, so that's what I did.

I held Louis close, whispering soothing words into his ear until he calmed down again.

After a while Louis pulled back apologizing over and over.

laughing at the adorable boy in front of me, I told him it was alright and that I was just glad he wasn't hurt.

Louis blushed and looked down as a second later the bell rang and we all made our way to our classes.

I swear this boy will be the death of me I thought to myself, staring at the adorable boy next to me.
