(MUDSTAR'S POV)
I saw Oakfur's patrol staring at Fang. Oakfur flicked his tail to Mountian Pack Territory. I knew he meant run, but I stayed. I couldn't let my warriors fight him! I would be a bad leader! "Oh look at the little kittypets trying to be brave warriors!" Fang laughed.
"I wouldn't say that if I was you!" I meowed. He turned around to face me. "Oh Mudstar, don't you remember what happened just a few minutes ago!" he meowed. I looked down. He was so cruel! I remember Flamestar, how brave she was, when I was a kit, I wanted to be just like her! Now is my chance! I leaped ontop of Fang and he was confused. I bited and clawed him trying to get him to leave. He flung me off with one little flick. I flew into a trunk of tree a couple feet away. It hurt so bad! Oakfur's patrol attacked him, making him run off, "You better sleep with one eye open Mudstar! Cause this isn't the last of me!" he yowled running off. I stared into the sky, what am I going to do! I walked back home with blood tricking down my fur. I went straight into my den. 'Mud shall lead.'
I walked out of my den. It was dawn. It was the day after the ecounter with Fang. I hope he never comes back! Today was the day that Molly and... some dog that names starts with D became mates. I made me remember the day I lost my mate.
It was a cold bare-leaf day, I was still Mudpelt, the clan deputy. My mate, Sparrowheart, walked beside me. We were beween homes. We have just lost our temporary home to a group of Rouges. They killed Lionfur, who was the deputy before me.Yellowpaw my apprentice got caught by twolegs. So life wasn't so good for me. It started raining and it was horrible! That's when a dog came and chased me and Sparrowheart away from the rest of the clan! Sparrowheart told me to run so I did. He turned around to face the dog and the dog killed him. That's why I was so terrified to fight Astride's pack on the first day we met. I thought I was going to end up the same fate as Sparrowheart.
I looked down at the ground. "Oh, what did I get myself into," I said to myself.
"You got into something more than you can handle, Mudstar?"
