In the Hatsume residence
Mei tediously worked at her latest project. Instead of making a new gadget that blows up though this time she was only observing and testing a certain black and gooey substance. One she believes has been changing Izuku into someone that isn't himself.
Mei: Voice log 2. Last log I tried to first identify the organism with every zoology, microbiology, and botany catalogue I could find using a search engine algorithm that searched for key traits listed. Specifically that its a symbiote with the ability to bond with a host and improve its physical capabilities beyond its normal limits.
Mei at the moment was handling a small flat glass cylinder which held the symbiote. Next to a microscope and other small glass tabs and containers.
Mei: However my search algorithm has not come up with any positive leads. Leading me to confirm with confidence now that this is a new species that man kind has yet to discover. Although considering its origins I shouldn't be surprised.
Mei then began to calibrate her microscope. Meanwhile the symbiote bounced and jump around its glass prison trying to escape.
Mei: Which also means I get to name a new alien species ..... *sigh* I would be so much more excited right now if it wasn't for Izuku being a host to some kind of brain worm.
Mei then opened a refrigerator full of more glass tabs and tape labels. Because not only is Mei Hatsume a engineering genius she is a microbiologist nerd as well.
Mei: So for the time being I have decided to name the species "symbiote". Due to its highly symbiotic properties and pure survival capability being on its ability to bond to a host.
Mei then moved the symbiote under the microscope. Also turning on a monitor showing what the microscope saw as well.
Mei: I will attempt to observe the symbiote bond to a blood cell sample.
She then used a small beaker for the blood tab. She then placed a small drop of blood into the symbiote. She then began to observe it.
Mei: ....interesting.
(Idk how to narrate a cell being taken over by a parasitic organism. So sorry to any biology major students or doctors reading this)
Mei: The symbiote is enhancing its ability to carry oxygen and carbon dioxide. Making the host able to live on its own longer with less help of other capillary cells or alveoli's from the lungs.
The symbiote blood cell then began to attack any other blood cells around it. Consuming them as well.
Mei: It is even able to create a defense mechanism for its host. Making other immune cells useless. However it seems to show aggressive nature and has now completely isolated itself. After of course killing and consuming the other cells around it.
The symbiotic cell then began to slowly diterieate. Dyeing slowly. Which brought much worry to Mei.
Mei: The host wasn't compatible. Which means it must function similar to organ donors. Only a perfect match will result in compatible cellular activity output. Is this going to happen to Izuku?
.........
I need to do more tests!3 hours later at 2 in the morning
Mei had bags under eyes and the once clean desk that held her scientific tools. Now also had monsters cans, coffee cups, and chocolate wrappers. She then started another log update showing obvious signs of fatigue in her voice.
