"Kokichi, are you sure you want to?" "What do I have to lose?" "Y-Your life!!" "I'll be fiineeee-" Kokichi stepped up to the cup and dropped the piece of paper in. "No going back now, Shuichi!" "I don't want you to get hurt.." "You don't need to worry about me, I doubt I'll get chosen. Now, we better get back to the dorms, it's getting late." "O-Okay.." Kokichi took Shuichi's hand and they walked back to the Ravenclaw common room. Kokichi had just put his name into the goblet of fire and tomorrow the names will be called. Shuichi was extremely worried for him. He didn't want him to get hurt, let alone die. They walked up the stairs and everyone else started to gather, noticing the time as well. They walked in and saw Miu messing with her newest invention. "Guess whatttt Miiuuuu~" He put his arms behind his head, looking proud. "Don't tell me you put your name in the cup." "Nehehe-" "Kokichi!" Shuichi's heart fluttered at his laugh. It was adorable. "Shuichi, why didn't you stop him??" Miu asked, setting down her tools for the night. "I tried, but.." Kokichi walked up to Shuichi and held his cheeks, "Shuichiii just couldn't say no to my cute little face-" "Kokichi!!" the shorter giggled and patted his cheeks, walking to the doorway of their dorm, "I'm going to bed," He hung off the doorframe, swinging his arm back and forth, "Night, Shuichi, Night Miu- Nighty Night Shuuiichiii-" He giggled once more and walked off, leaving the two confused. Shuichi sighed lovingly and leaned onto the coffee table and seting his hands on his chin. "..Shuichi? Is something going on with you two?" Shuicihi snapped out of his daze from Miu's voice and looked at her confused, "What do you mean?" She looked at him with an obvious look, "Seriously? The way he talks to you and the way you look at him- that does not look like just friends." Shuichi looked down and didn't answer. He'd question it before, but had pushed it to the back of his mind. He yawned, "I'm gonna go to bed too, goodnight, Miu.." He walked off, the thoughts of Kokichi and him plauging his mind. He  walked in to the dorm and sat down on his bed, looking at Kokichi peacefully sleeping in his bed. He sighed and slid under his own covers, slowly falling asleep.

"Shuichi!! Shuichiiii wake up!!!" Kokichi shook Shuichi awake exitedly, already in his robes. "Mn??" Shuichi flipped onto his back and put his hand on his forehead, everything so bright. "They're gonna choose!! I don't wanna miss it, Shuichi!!" Shuichi yawned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. He got up and quickly put his robe on, his hand getting taken and then dragged to the cafeteria, Kokichi giggling all the way there. He sat down next to Miu, who was talking to Keebo. Kokichi never let go of Shuichi's hand after they sat down. Shuichi slowly tightened the grip as he got more nervous-  "Shuichi! There you are!" Kaede quickly sat down next to him, "I've been looking for you everywhere.." "Oh- W-What is it?" "I figured out the first challenge!!" "What? How?" The headmaster, Makoto Naegi, finally spoke up and broke their conversation, "The goblet is speaking," The first name popped out. "Nekomaru Nidai." He stood up and walked proudly to the room, the other name coming out. "Seiko Kimura." She hesitantly stood up and got pushed by a girl with pink short hair, shakily walking to the room. The last name arrived from the flames and landed in Makoto's hands. "...the last Champion is...  Kokichi Ouma." Kokichi's eyes widened and looked at Shuichi excitedly, who was frozen in surpise, and stood up, walking to the room with his arms behind his head. He walked in and saw the others more up close, "You don't look like you want to be here," Kokichi commented to who he assumed  was Seiko. She nodded shyly and looked away, wrapping her arms around herself, "Y-Yeah," Makoto walked in and told them all to sit down, which Kokichi gladly took. "You three are champions. You will compete in challenges to see who will be the winner. The first challenge starts in a month. Get ready."

Kokichi took Shuichi's hands excitedly, "Eeeee!!! It's in a month, Shumai!! I'm so excited!!!" He was jumping up and down, hugging him. Shuichi blushed at how happy he was and pet his head, which he enjoyed. His eyes widened when he realized the nickname, "S-Shumai?" "Nehe~ sorry, It just slipped out~" His face went to a worried expression, "I'm happy for you, Kokichi, I really am, I'm just worried if you'll be okay.. I don't want you to get hurt.." He instinctively held his face, looking right into his eyes caringly. "..Did I interupt something?" The two quickly looked to the right, seeing Kaede with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face. Shuichi pushed Kokichi away, his face a deep red and wrapped his arms around himself.  "I can leave if you want me to~ so you can have some time alone, hm??" "Shush, N-No-" "Pff  we all know things would go faster between you two if you didn't get interuptted every intimate moment." She jokingly rolled her eyes and walked to her dorm room, pausing at the doorway, "By the way, Kokichi. I found out the first competition. It's dragons." She smiled and walked off, leaving the two to their suspicions. Kokichi giggled and put his arms behind his head, "I have to go, Shumai," 'There's the nickname again,' Shuichi thought, seeing Kokichi walk backwards, "Gotta talk to miu about somethin. Byebye~!" He ran off, leaving Shuichi blushing with his thoughts.
