Chapter 4: The First Date

I felt a rapid rush of blush come onto my face.

Did he really just ask me that? Armin really did say that, right? It's not just my mind, is it?, I thought to myself before my thoughts got interrupted.

"Um... Y/N, would you like to go on a date with me?" Armin says again. I could see the blush of embarrassment on his face.

Shit- Oh shit he actually said it, I thought while trying to respond but nothing came out.

"Um- yes Armin, I would love to go on a date with you," I responded back, blush showing fully on my face.

Armin's face brightening up, he asked, "What days are you free then? I'm free on Saturday if that works for you, Y/N"

"Yeah, that works for me."

It was now Friday, two days after Armin asked me on a date. It was the end of classes and I decided to pick my outfit for tomorrow. I finished my homework and was bored.

I got up from my bed and went to my closet to see what I could wear. I didn't feel like wearing a dress... Fuck, I don't even know where he's taking me.

After looking through my drawers, for what felt like hours, I finally picked an outfit. It was a pastel (f/c) sweater with a white tennis skirt. It was now 11pm at night. I picked up my phone to text Armin 'Goodnight'. After I texted him I put my phone down, plugged it in and fell asleep.

I woke up to my alarm going off, it was 7:30am. I turned off my alarm and saw a text from Armin.

"Good morning Y/N," I read from the screen in front of my face.

I replied back "Good morning Armin, see you at 10am,"

I got up from my bed and walked to the bathroom to take a shower. After my shower, I blow dried my hair and put on my clothes that I picked yesterday. I had some time to kill before I saw Armin, so I just sat in the dorm, trying my best not to wake up Historia.

It was 9:55 so I decided to leave. I grabbed my purse with my wallet and phone in it, put on my shoes, and left my dorm.

I went to the place Armin said to meet up. It had a nice Cherry Blossom tree with a bench underneath it. As I was approaching the tree, I saw someone sitting on the bench. It was Armin!

"Hello, M'lady," Armin says with a nice tone in his voice.

"Hello, Armin," I say, trying to hold back a laugh, but eventually couldn't hold back. "I'm sorry-"

After finally calming down I ask, "So where are you going to take me on this date?"

"Hmmm, you'll see once we get there," he says while taking me to his car. His car was a nice shade of black with leather seats in them. He opened the passenger door for me.

"Thank you," I say while he rounds the front of the car to get to the driver's seat.

"We're gonna go to Walmart first for some stuff, okay?"

"Yeah I'm okay with that," I reply back.

I started to play some of my favourite songs from my playlist. We got to Walmart and we walked in together. Armin dragged me to the picnic cloth section without saying anything.

"Why would we need a picnic cloth?" I say, questioning him.

"Don't worry, Y/N, you'll see once we get to the place," He says with giggles. He decided to grab the blue and white patterned cloth.

The blue kind of matches his eyes, I thought while he started dragging me to the food section. Getting a bunch of snacks.

"Get some snacks you like too, Y/N."

I decided to get my (f/f) and I saw Armin grab a plastic container of gummy worms. We both walked to self checkout and Armin paid for everything.

"Thanks for paying Armin, now will you tell me where we're going?" I say with a smirk on my face.

"No," he says with a laugh, "Not until we get there."

We got to Armin's car and he opened the trunk. I handed the bags to him so he could put them in there. Again, he opened the passenger door for me.

Man, he really is a gentleman.

When he got into the driver's seat, I plugged my phone into the aux cord, playing songs from my playlist.

After driving for some time, we finally got to the place Armin planned for our date. I was so excited to get there that once Armin parked I ran straight out of the car. It was the beach!

"Hey," Armin yells, "We still have to take out the things from my car."

"Oh, coming!" I ran back to his car. I grabbed one of the bags while Armin grabbed the other two. We walked down to the beach.

Once Armin placed down the picnic cloth, I took off my shoes and sat down. Armin did the same and sat down beside me. We both stared at the ocean together. My head on his shoulder, listening to the sound of the waves coming to crash down on the dry sand.

It felt like we we're the only two on the beach.

I decided to grab the snacks and start eating them.

"Here, want a gummy worm Armin?" I ask him

"Sure," he says. I decided to feed it to him. After he ate he started laughing. We both laughed randomly together.

After we finished laughing, Armin said, "You laugh really cutely," Some blush ran up my face.

"Thank you, Armin," I replied, trying not to stutter. We started to cuddle again on the picnic cloth and he started to play with my hair.

Suddenly, Armin asked, "Can I kiss you?"

A light blush formed on my face. I started to zone out a bit. He really asked me that, huh...

"Y/N, Y/N, are you okay? You zoned out a bit. Look we don't have to if you don't want too-"

"No, I don't mind," I say cutting him off.

Our lips connected to each other. Armin's lips felt comforting in a way you haven't felt in a while. He pulled away and a blush came onto his face.

"I'm sorry if I made it awkward," he says in a small panic, putting his hands in front of his face to cover up the blushing mess he became.

"No, no your fine. I liked it anyway."

Armin started to play with my hair again while I ate some gummy worms and my (f/f). We stayed at the ocean for a good 2-3 hours, just eating food and cuddling and talking with each other.

I felt so happy with Armin. It felt as if nothing could get in the way of our relationship.
