The NerveGear rest on my head, an extension cord reaching towards my bed. I'm standing up, staring blankly at a calibrating screen. The dragon symbol flashed, loading until the long and tiring procedure is complete. The body scan is almost finished. I first have to pat my body all over the place so they can get every piece of data correctly, like my height and stuff.

I sighed, causing the screen to flare a warning; I'm not supposed to move just yet during the scan. Currently, it's at my shins, 80% until this is done. I'll have you know - I am not a patient person. It's scanned everything, to my uneven cut hair, small scars, and now my toes. The examination is complete.

The screen exited to restart and save all the information stored inside the memory card. After that's finished I pull it off, unplugging the plug to make sure it doesn't overheat - even if there is unlimited battery. Can't force quit during the game now, so it's a what-if situation.

I held the helmet firmly between my hands, body racing with adrenalin. I could hear my heart pumping in my ears and legs jittering with anticipation. Instantaneously, I run my hands over the cord and plug in this fantastic piece of technology once again, resting the helmet on the top of my head, just the right size.

My vision is hindered by the NerveGear, forcing myself to use my figurines and nendroids on the desk for balance to get to my bed. The body scan was now complete, the procedure taking a rough half hour. All the players are to meet inside Skyrim in the next five minutes, so I'd best hurry.

"Kelly, are you going to - " My older brother barged in, sighing once he sees me lay on the bed. "Of course. Make sure to log out before I leave for college, or I swear I'll rip that thing from your head while you're playing!"

I whinged through my helmet. "Aw, you're no fun! Don't worry Francis, I'll be sure to say bye to you."

He jumped once to grab ahold of a box being supported by his knee, balancing to speak with me. We both laugh before he walks out, shaking his head at how much of a life I don't have.

Play videogames, survive, eat. Rinse and repeat. Not even a wink of sleep in my room.

I determine my race, unfortunately not being able to choose your own appearance like in character customisation.

The theme song pops up, signalling the game is set and ready. "Ha yeah!" I shout quietly to myself. If I was alone in this house, I'd be screeching with excitement. My stomach churns at the sight, drinking in the fact I'm doing something better than the Oculus Rift. I close my eyes, screaming the letters to start my game.
