Betty pov
"There you are! What took you so long. You had this lovely man waiting for hours!" Veronica joked light-heartedly as she glanced behind me to see Archie hot on my tail.

"I must of had a bad lunch. I don't feel too good" I replied in all honesty giving her an apologetic smile while the TBK smiled tauntingly at me.

"My stomach is also sensitive. Happens all the time to me." he replied casually as he hands me a drink.

"Oh I don't drink" I smiled rejecting his offered and he smirked.

"Oh man, I took you as a vodka gal" He flirted shamelessly as I felt Archie shift to stand next to me.

"Sebastian this is Archie" Veronica made introductions as he shook Archie's hand firmly.

"It's a pleasure to meet you" Sebastian said politely  and eyed Archie in anticipation.

"Haven't seen you around here before. You new in town?" Archie asked glancing at him and he nodded.

"Business trip. I'm an architect, I was assigned a project here and the investor made a offer I couldn't reject" he explained casually as I fidgeted with my hands.

"Oh really? And who is the investor? Maybe I know" Veronica asked cluelessly.

"Hiram Lodge" He replied making our eyes grow wide.

"Hiram Lodge?" Veronica voiced in surprise.

"Yes he said he has a property that needs renovating and well here I am. Do you know him?" He chuckled making eye contact with me.

"Yes he is my father actually" Veronica spoke rolling her eyes irritably.

"I guess we will be seeing you around a lot" I spoke calmly.

"I'll be sticking around for a while" He confirmed with a sly smirk and I nodded while Archie just glared at him.

"Maybe you guys can show me around since all I know is my hotel room at the five seasons" He laughed humorously

"yes of course" Veronica smiled.

"Well I better get going. I have to meet up with your father early morning to run over some structural plans with him" Sebastian claimed sipping the last of his drink before setting down his glass cup down.

"We will see you around" Veronica bid goodbye.

"Most definitely" He called out kissing Veronica's hand to bid his farewell. He patted Archie's back politely before going around him to stand directly in front of me.

"I hope we can get to know each other soon" He smiled grabbing my hand ever so slowly before placing a soft kiss never breaking eye contact with me and I tensed at his touch. He ever so slowly and walked closer to me to whisper in my ear.

"maybe next time you'll want to be alone and not with your little group" He suggested almost as a warning.

"Specially not your bestie Andrews because I'd hate Riverdale to mourn two sweet best friends all at once" He finished making freeze up in alarm.

"Plus its you that I want and I don't like sharing and only one of us gets what we want" He smiled kissing my cheek and walking away without another word. I blinked twice before I could even register Archie was speaking to me.

"Betty" He called my name more sternly and I glanced at him

"Would one of you mind explaining what the hell is going on?" Veronica asked glancing at the both of us.

"Not now Veronica!" Archie replied irritably rolling his eyes and walking towards me while she just stared at him in bewilderment.

"Betty?" Archie softer this time and I took a big breath.

"It's best if I do things on my own" I spoke in certainty and Archie furrowed his eyebrows in response.

"No" He replied shaking his head angrily.

"I'm not asking you Archie" I replied sternly meeting his glare.

"You think I'm just gonna let you deal with a literal psychopath that wants to kill you all by yourself?" He argued angrily.

"I am trained Archie. I know the protocols you don't" I reasoned shaking my head at his stubbornness.

"Fine. Teach me everything I need to know and I'll do it" He replied crossing his arms.

"Look, I can't focus on him and be worried about you getting hurt. I need my sole attention on trying to catch him without fearing any repercussions. You are a liability for me and I need to choose between you or getting my job done. So don't make it harder for me" I argued walking closer to him to keep the conversation between us.

"I can't just let you do this on your own Betty. You wouldn't let me go through this alone either" He explains with soft eyes almost begging me not to shut him out.

"I can't expose you like this, it's too dangerous and I am not gonna be responsible for anything bad happening to you. You've been through too much to risk your life with this. This is my problem and my field of expertise. So let me do what needs to get done and stay out of my way Archie. Its my job, let me do it" I exclaimed meeting his gaze and he sighed in frustration.

"I swear if something happens to you I'll kill him-" Archie said looking at me desperately.

"Nothing will happen. I have a whole team to make sure of it. Just trust me okay?" I whispered reassuringly.

"I trust you with my life" He replied.

"And all I'm trying to do right now is to protect it so please let me" I whispered softly looking into his eyes.

"and who protects you?" He asked softly clenching his jaw to remain calm.

"I'll be fine" I lied with a soft smile.

"24 years and you still can't lie" He frowned sadly not at all convinced.

"No I can lie. I've just never needed to do it with you" I smiled back and he gave a small grin.

"Be careful" He whispered softly.

"I promise" I smiled taking out my pinky and he mimicked my movements with an amused chuckle.
