Naruto's P.O.V

All these visits to the doctor were getting pretty tiresome. Luckily for him, his ankle could be quickly healed by a free medic, more than eager to help. He guesses that was one privilege he had after the war; practically everyone respected him now and wanted to prove themselves to him, even if it meant just doing a small task. It was nice, though. He remembers how long he longed for this to happen. It actually happening, though, was still beyond him and felt so surrealistic. Tsunade also checked up on how his medicine was holding up when she just happened to see him sitting on the hospital bed. After scolding him a bit about being more careful and remembering to thank the nurse for helping him, she asked many questions about how the side effects had been affecting him. After a little white lie saying it mainly went smooth, he was primarily fine if we disregard the minor heatstroke, she left him be. Although she didn't really seem convinced, not to mention he was sure that thing Hinata had dished up for him would work wonders. Sakura had helped too, after all, and she's really good at medicine.

He closed his eyes, feeling the warm sun hit his skin as he exited the hospital. Weird how just a little sunshine could make everything seem okay. It was okay though, it was actually amazing considering the circumstances a year ago. Now he really didn't have too much to worry about, apart from the obvious, but he was sure he could handle it and strongly believed Tsunade wouldn't fail him. The war was over, he got the angry Uchiha back, all of his friends were in a good mood lately, and he was so excited to finally see them this afternoon.

Just as he was about to head towards Hinata's house to pick her up to go shopping for some ingredients since Sakura had insisted she absolutely under no circumstance whatsoever could join, he got stopped by 4 kids circling him. They all looked up at him with starstruck eyes and praying hands. Begging him to show them a jutsu. He politely tried to decline several times, but god knows how persistent little kids can be these days. Someone besides them suddenly coughed, making all 5 of them turn their heads, and was it his lucky day or what? Hinata was apparently already here and ready to save him from these snotballs. He flashed her a bright smile, letting her know he noticed her.

"I'm s-sorry little ones, I need Naruto-kun, he promised to help me pick up some groceries."

The kids started yelling 'no fair!' and trampled their feet angrily. Naruto only snickered, poking his tongue out at them, earning several shocked expressions and some tongues back. He gladly stepped aside and fell into step with the blue-haired girl. She stiffened for a moment when he walked beside her but loosened up after some seconds, twiddling her thumbs while sneaking glances up at him. He only smiled back, offering to take the bag she brought with her, probably so they didn't have to buy a new one at the supermarket.

"How has your day been, Hinata?"

He said, attempting to make some small talk. It wasn't before recently that the girl had started to be able to hang out with him alone without being overly stressed and anxious. For some reason, she had some pretty bad anxiety-related issues when being near him. Sakura said it was because she admired him so much, which was cute in a way, but really she shouldn't let it affect her negatively.

"I-I haven't been up to much, except some training early this morning."

She said softly, glancing up at him but quickly averting her eyes again. Fuck, he should probably also train. He groaned inwardly, realizing he really wasn't able to train much the last few days because of all the unfortunate events.

"That's great! I should get a nice session in soon too."

She only chuckled at his remark, and he sent her a raised eyebrow. Was that funny? Oh well. Suddenly she halted, bringing both hands to cover he mouth and a remorseful look appeared on her face.
