When I woke up a few hours later, the power was still out, and the sun has yet to rise. I was a bit confused to see Lee was still in my bed. Except his hoodie was off, being shirtless underneath.

He was curled up next to me with his head on my stomach and hand resting on my shin.

My arm was around him protectively. I don't know why I'm just realizing, but he smells fantastic. Like body wash and clean laundry. Maybe a hint of fruit, I can't tell, but the scent makes me sigh with a small smile.

"M-Mummy?" My eyes snap open when I hear the raspy, groggy voice. I try to get a look at him, seeing that he's still asleep.

"Lee?" I call him softly. He snores lightly in response, face relaxed, but his body was a bit tense. I hug him tighter, resuming my attention.

He shifts a bit, his hand moving up to his face, bringing my shirt up a little.

It's insane how I went from hating him, to lusting him, now all I wanna do is protect him. Last night was something I've never witnessed, but I somehow knew how to calm him down.

The fact I'm holding him this way actually feels nice.

I start humming the song from last night, playing with his hair. The texture is relaxing. He makes a low moaning noise when I scratch his scalp.

I kiss his hairline then got comfortable again.

"What's wrong?" A voice called to me.

I was sitting outside against a tree, knees to my chest and tears on my face. I looked up to see the one person I really didn't wanna see.

"Leave me alone. I don't wanna talk to you," I said in a soft voice, looking down at my bare feet.

The long haired boy sat down next to me and I scoot away.

"Is it something I did?" I looked at him with an annoyed look. "Yes." He copied my position, I straighten my legs and put my hands under them.

"Can you tell me what?"

I wiped my face on my night shirt. It was rather late, maybe a bit pass 11. My parents worked late and Karl snuck out so I'm alone. I'm always alone, and I didn't like it. The only time I wanted to be left alone is when it came to the boy next to me.

"You're so mean to me," I began. "I'll be mindin' me own business and you'll start messin' with me. You called me names, took me things, and lie about me. You broke me glasses yesterday and made-made me cry," I felt more tears coming.

He just stared at me wordlessly.

"You know. Now, leave me alone, Lee," I said, trying desperately not cry in front of him. He sighed then ran a hand through his thick, black curls. He didn't speak for a few seconds then I just stood up. I dusted my clothes off then looked down at him.

"Just... leave me alone," I said, making my way to my back door.

"Jade, wait," I heard him. I turned around to see he was standing as well. He was taller than me, but not by much.

"I-I'm...," he struggled and I scoffed, turning to leave. "I'm sorry," he said right before I reached for the door knob. I looked back at him, my sadness turned into perplexity. "Wha?" I asked, wondering if I heard him right.

He sighed, then approached my back porch. "Get away from me, Lee-Anthony," I warned while pointing at him. He gets this almost angry look on his face.

"I said I was sorry. What else do you want?" I open the door and he rushed to close it.

I shoved him, though it didn't do too much. "I want you to leave me alone!" His eyes darted from each eye, apparently trying to figure me out. He then does something I never thought he'd do.
