I've lived in my flat with my best friend, Perrie for almost two years. We're both university students living on campus since it's cheaper. Our place isn't the most lavish, but we can't complain; we're just happy to be on our own.The building we're residing in isn't very big, having three floors with only six apartments within it. Two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. There's one washroom on each floor. Lucky for us, we were the only residents on our floor, the third.
The flats are pretty big, enough for us to have our own bathrooms, but nope.
No one's lived in the vacant flat across from us since we've been here.
That's until he moved in.
He as in Lee Pinnock, also my old neighbor.
A conceited footballer a year ahead of me. And a certified dickhead.
We attended the same primary and secondary schools until year 8 and I switched schools. He picked on me a lot for dumb stuff. I actually can't name a reason, he just liked bugging me. Then I met Perrie my ninth year while she was in year 8.
Her and I got close when we found out we're from South Shields, Newcastle. She had came out to me a year later and made it clear she didn't have a crush on me before I said anything.
She had a crush on this one girl that was pretty mean, and she told her and got outted. I've had to play her girlfriend several times, but now she has a gorgeous girlfriend. I mean "turn you gay" gorgeous.
Girls threw themselves at Lee and he would date a girl for a week then break up with her. By the next day, he's with a different girl. But he's as pretty as he is annoying. He's lush and he fucking knows it.
He's so cocky because he was MVP for junior rugby at our school and the most popular. Now, he wasn't like one of those dumb jocks. He had pretty good marks in the classes we shared, but the times he'd get a higher score than me, he'd rub it in my face.
One time, in year 4, he took my tie away from me and I got in trouble for an incomplete uniform. In year seven, he emptied my white glue onto the teacher's chair. I thought I lost it until Ms. Johnson found the bottle that had my name written on it in black sharpie.
If it weren't for a new kid telling on him, I would've gotten in big trouble. He made it hard for me to be head girl for eight years we've been going to school together.
When I found out he was our neighbor, Perrie didn't understand why I rolled my eyes when I saw him.
"Remember that pretty boy I told you about?" I ask her as I park the car. "Yeah... wait, that's him?" I nod, "Yep. That's him." Lee was taking a big box from his trunk and sets it on the ground to close the door.
He bends down to pick the box up and carries it to our building.
"He's gorgeous," she comments and I glare at her. "What? I'm gay, not blind," she defends. I unbuckle my seatbelt then got out of the car. "Don't tell him that. It'll go straight to his already big head."
"Are you sure that's him?"
"I know that big head anywhere," I say as we make it towards the building. When we get to the lift, we had to wait since he was on it.
"Did you even talk to him?" I squint at her a little, "Why in the hell would I talk to him?"
"Didn't you say he's hot now?"
