Chapter 14 - The End (part two)

This is part two of the happy ending, sorry it's late, I've been working a lot these past few days. Anyway hope you enjoy.

Days passed since the Asian boy was admitted though he was never alone, people came and went but the one person who almost constantly stayed by his side was none other than Ash himself. Day in and day out, the blonde boy stayed by his friend's side eagerly waiting for him to wake up. "Ash you need to go home." The blonde boy jumped at the new voice in the room until he saw none other than Ibe-san with tired eyes in the corner of the room. "There's nothing for me there, Eiji's my home."

All Ibe-san could do was sigh as the blonde boy desperately held on to the other boy's hand it was the only thing keeping him alive and, in a way, it was. "Please just try to get some sleep, you look exhausted." The man said before turning and exiting the room, Ash nodded before placing his head on Eiji's bed. "Please come back to me Eiji." He muttered before be greeted by a much needed sleep.

Hours passed before the heart monitor picked up slightly, the blonde instantly shot up from his seat as he looked towards his friend. He saw the boy's eyes flicker open before he began to look around frantically, the boy tensed before his eyes caught Ash standing by his bed to which he instantly relaxed his body. "W-what happened?" He asked before the memories started to flood back to him in waves, each one more painful than the last.

The heart monitor began to pick up as the boy struggled to catch his breath, Ash immediately rushed into action as the other boy spiraled into a panic attack. "Eiji, breathe with me, in out, in out." He said gently though his mind began to race as his one and only friend panicked in front of him. Thankfully Eiji began to slowly calm down as his heart rate slowed and his breathing returned to normal. "I'm so sorry Eiji."

The Asian boy was then enveloped in a hug as the blonde boy practically sobbed into his shoulder, Eiji immediately started to calm the boy as he placed his hands on the other boy's back, "It's okay, I'm okay, and none of this is your fault." Eiji whispered gently into Ash's ear. Minutes passed before the boy began to quiet down as the room silent besides the comforting beeps of the heart monitor. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you Eiji." Ash said softly, still enjoying the comfort of the older boy's shoulder, "Everything's okay now Ash, we're going to be okay." Eiji said calmly as the two boys leaned back on the bed, "Everything's going to be okay."
