(Still Adam's P.O.V.)
"Daddy! Come chase me!" my three year old daughter, Kara, yelled as she was running through the house, her dark brown, bouncy curls bouncing as she ran.
She had, of course, inherited my dark hair while having her mother's emerald-green eyes. Kara had also inherited my ADD and wild personality; she is hardly ever calm. That's just how I like her though; she is a perfect combination of me and her mother.
"Ok, honey. I'll count to 20 and give you a head start," I answered, already planning an idea in my head.
"Ok, Daddy," Kara's sweet, high-pitched voice replied back.
"1....2....3.....4" I counted off, pretending to cover my ears and eyes so I wouldn't see or hear in which direction she was going.
Standing in place for a minute, not saying anything, I waited for her footsteps to die down. Soon after, I couldn't hear her running anymore and, I quietly stepped around the corner and stuck my head out. A little strand of her red dress was clearly visible from behind the couch. I smirked as I discovered her hiding spot and resumed counting.
"10....11....12...13."
I stopped counting at 15 and quietly came out of my hiding spot and crept up towards her, careful to not to alarm her. As soon as I was 4 feet away, Kara jumped up real quick and took off running, but before she could get to far, I caught her and held her in my arms.
"Yes! I won! I caught the little tiger!" I declared proudly while laughing.
She giggled, "No you didn't, silly Daddy. You cheated."
I put her back down and faked a gasp, "Daddy didn't cheat!"
Kara giggled even more, "Yes you did! You didn't cownt to 20!"
She was such a smart girl for her age.
"Well, I tell you what," I started as I moved to sit on the sofa and her following to sit in my lap, "As soon as Mommy and Jesse come back with Bones, we'll have a rematch and get them to play with us."
She laid her small head back on my chest and yawned, "Ok, Daddy."
I smiled, and also yawned, feeling very sleepy suddenly.
I soon started to doze off, as a result of the quiet house and woke up to Kara's sleepy voice, "Daddy? Can you swing won of your swongs for me?"
I smiled and instantly thought of a very special song that meant a lot to me, and especially Nicole.
"Beauty queen of only 18, she
Had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her, she
Always belonged to someone else..."
I finally sang the last note and looked down to Kara in my lap to find that she was sound asleep. I smiled at the sight and then drifted off into my own sleep.
"We're home!" Nicole's voice rang through the house, waking both me and Kara.
"Daddy! Kara! " another voice called out. Jesse's.
We had decided to name our firstborn son , which was almost 5, after my bestfriend-the one and only, Jesse Carmichael. He was an exact replica of me, but had his mother's personality.
"Mommy! Jesse! Bones!" Kara exclaimed excitingly and jumped out of my lap to go meet Nicole and her brother.
I also got up and followed Kara into the hallway. She was down on her knees, next to Jesse, petting and rubbing Bones.
"Hey little man!" I greeted Jesse as he stood up and came to give me a hug.
"Hi Daddy! Mommy told me that when I'm a big boy, you will teach me how to play guitar. Can you?" he asked excitingly.
I laughed and did a fist pump in the air. I told you Blake! I love winning bets; especially against him.
"Sure thing, buddy you just eat more of your vegetables and soon, you'll be big as me!" I promised, hoping he would believe me.
His eyes grew wide, "I'll eat all of my broccoli, I promise!"
I chuckled and ruffled his hair, "You do that. I'm going to see Mommy."
I walked over into the kitchen and saw Nicole's back facing towards me while she was checking her phone.
"Hello there, momma," I purred as I wrapped my arms around her visibly large bump.
Our third child could arrive at any time now. We were all very anxious for our new little member of our house to come into the world. Even Jesse and Kara were excited, especially since they were getting a little sister.
Nicole laughed and put her phone down while turning around to face me, "Right back at ya, Daddy."
I smirked and leaned down to her belly, "And hello, baby. I love you so much and I can't wait to meet you." I then kissed her bump and stood back up to find that Nicole was smiling widely at me. She then put her arms around my neck and leaned up to kiss me.
I shot up in bed, panting. It was just a dream. It felt so real. I.....I wanted it to be real. I looked over on the other side of the bed to see Behati was sound asleep, only confirming that I had been dreaming. I began to curse silently after remembering what had happened last night; from the alcohol all the way to my behavior with Behati. I then sat in bed thinking about my dream. It felt so, so real and I acted so happy. I wanted it to be real. Everything I've ever wanted for myself was in that dream. How come it was Nicole in the dream and not Behati? Would I ever have that with Behati? Any of it?
Sighing, I looked over to my alarm clock to find it was 5:00 a.m.
I shook my head and got up from the bed to go over to my chest of drawers, carefully stepping over the broken glass on the floor. My eyes immediately caught an object that has been causing so much shit recently.
Nicole's phone.
I stared at it for about 15 minutes, crazy thoughts running in my mind. The main one: Nicole needs her phone back and I want to see her again.
Coming to a decision, I quickly put on some clothes, sent a text to my manager, grabbed Nicole's phone, and got in my sports car to drive to the airport. To Florida.
