~ suddenly you say
my name and I loose
my brain ~"So you thought it was a good idea to lie to me about it?" Aaron's voice was calm but Noah knew he was anything but. His hands were clutching the top of his chair he should have been sitting in and his harsh glare was set upon Noah for the first time since they first met and she threatened to kick him out if he didn't put a smile on his face and at least pretend he wanted to be there.
It was a school carnival fun raiser, she had dealt with Jessica before that but was warned Aaron would be coming. It was embarrassing really, the older kids had set up a kissing booth and everyone wanted to hot tall dark and brooding man to participate. Of course they failed to realize that it was illegal for him to kiss literally anyone attending but the teachers and Noah was the only one around. Well more like Jenna shoved her up there to shoot her shot.
So yes, they met a bit awkwardly at first. Mostly because Noah never kissed him. She kissed the side of his lips for about 30 seconds which he figured looked like she was making out with him and then pulled back. She straightened out his tie carefully before just walking away.
She had met him officially when he came over to her class booth wanting to meet Jacks new teacher. He was brooding the whole time and eventually she had enough and gave him a piece of her mind but in a way so calm and elegant she had to be a politic if she wasn't one already. He never glared at her again after that, unless it was playful, for he never wanted to see her angry again.
But here Noah was, sitting at his desk with her legs crossed calm and professional. As if she didn't just admit to him that she lied.
"It was an idea, I never claimed it to be good or smart."
Aaron's hands dig deeper in the leather on his seat and Noah's eyes flicker down to them for a moment. She shot them back up to his face, studying him, "Do not use that tone with me Ms. Calvino."
"You're not my boss Mr. Hotchner, so do not act as if your word has any more significance then mine."
Aaron's hands slip from his chair and he walks around his desk, slipping himself between Noah's chair and the front of it. "Where can we find him?"
Noah clenches her jaw, closing her eyes for a second. This was hard for her, as much as she tried to be strong and tough, this was hard for her. And Aaron Hotchner right there in her vicinity was throwing her off more. And he knew that.
"Noah?"
She kept her eyes burning into his chest, refusing to make eye contact, "There's a party tomorrow night, my fathers throwing it. I can get you in but I'll be there, I have to be. He's coming." She felt the movement before she saw it. Aaron had been doing it a lot. Gripping her chin. Holding her cheek. Kissing her head. It didn't help her one bit when it came to the feelings she harbored for the FBI agent.
This time though, he just gripped her chin, glancing down at her, "Is this the party everyone claims you wanted to invite me to?" That caused her to break eye contact with him.
"Uh no. That was a campaign for me, this is a party for my father to set me up with someone." She was surprised her voice was steady even this close to Aaron.
"So why not just bring a date."
"It wouldn't be fair on my date, those events get stuffy." His hand was still on her chin and he squeezed it lightly causing her to make eye contact with him.
"You mean your dad."
"I can't promise he won't have my ex get down on one knee and propose to me in hopes I wouldn't say no in front of so many people."
Aaron nods, "Would you?"
She furrows her eyebrows, "Say no? Yes."
"Alright, then I have a plan. You need constant protection so I'll go to the party with you. The rest of the team will go with Rossi, it won't be suspicious cause he drags them to events all the time. I'll be your date for the night since you won't let me take you on one, and hopefully that will keep you from getting proposed to tonight."
Noah sat back in her chair causing his hand to drop to his lap, "When did I not let you take me on a date?" Her voice held confusion as she started at him.
"Would you?"
Noah barked out a small laugh shaking her head, "That was smooth Mr. Hotchner. The party starts at 7, Drew's. Dress nice." She goes to stand up but Aaron places his hands on her shoulders and once he's sure she still sitting, he crouches don't in front of her dropping his hands so her legs.
"Answer the question Noah. Would you allow me to take you on a date?" She stared at him closely. He was nervous. Scared he was pushing to hard. Unsure if he should place his hands on her after what she went though and hoping he made the right decision.
Noah placed her hands on his, holding them when he flipped his palms up. "I would probably say yes if I was asked by you." Her words were slow and careful and Aaron noted she was scared of what he would say to them.
He nods, "Well that's fantastic because I want to take you on a date when this is over."
Noah nods, "Yeah?"
"Yes." He nods, pulling them up. "I know this great diner."
"Do they have milkshakes?"
"The best, that's why I want to take you there. I'm usually more classy but you like milkshakes so you know I just thought that maybe that's a good place to-"
It was Noah's turn to place her hands on his shoulders, "Your cute when you ramble."
"You think I'm cute?"
"When you ramble."
"And when I'm not rambling?"
She tilts her head to the side and smiles at him gently, "I think you're a very handsome man."
She drops her hands, going to say something only for him to cut her off, "Oooo." He taunts, "You think I'm hot."
"Aaron. We should go inform your team of this new development."
"I don't think my team needs to know about my love life."
She laughs gently, "About the- my rapist."
He nods lightly, "Lead the way."
