"Jack!" Genesis screamed, gripping the 9 year olds arm tightly, "I told you to wear a long sleeve shirt," she growls out, glaring at the young boy. Jack gulps slightly, he was terrified.

"I'm sorry Gen, I just forgot-" Jack was cut off by a slap to the cheek.

"Excuses, excuses, get it together Jack, I don't have time for this."

Once the wicked witch of the west exits his bedroom Jack can't help but reach up to his cheek. It wasn't the first time Genesis had slapped him and it would be far from the last, but it still shocked him that she could do it. Jack held in his tears as he pulled a dark green sweatshirt over his t-shirt.

He knew his teacher was catching onto things. How could she not? He came to school sporting a new bruise almost every week. Jack was running out of stories and Rudy was growing more and more worried about him. Jack was aware that even if his best friend promised not to tell he would eventually, Rudy had gone through his own abuse and knew what it could do to a person.

Noah smiles gently at her class "Hyperbole." She chuckles out, shaking her head. Her students couldn't pronounce the word and it was quite amusing.

"Hyper- bully." They all try once again.

Smiling widely Noah shits her book, "Close enough; recess." She announces earning whoops and hollers. Looking worriedly at Jacks seat Noah sighs. For a kid who once had perfect attendance he was sure gone a lot. Jenna, Ms. Greene from across the hallway, peeks in around the corner, "Do you want me to cover for your class?" she asks. Noah nods earing a smile.

Once she exits the room Noah let's out a breath. David told her to call him if anything fishy came up but-

It doesn't matter, she shouldn't get her students fathers coworker involved in her students affairs. Even if Aaron had told her to call the team if anything came up. Did this even-

Noah was just scared that Jack's stories weren't lies and she was overreacting. But the bruises, those boy's aren't that rowdy and Noah has known Jack for years. She knew when he was lying and he most definitely had been lately. Maybe she could just call Mr. Rossi and ask his opinion. It was moments like this she wished her parents would actually parent. She needed advice.

Pulling out her iPhone Noah leans against her desk. She had quite literally placed David's contact in her phone as 'Mr. Rossi' which had got a kick out of the man. Her was quite charming and Noah was glad she met him. Those events could get stuffy.

'SSA Rossi.'

Letting out a deep breath, Noah wraps her arm around her waist, "Mr. Rossi, it's me Noah, Jack's teacher." she speaks gently and hesitantly. Was this the right decision?

David placed the file he was reading down on his desk. He was honestly worried he would get this call and hoped he would not, 'Is this about Jack?' Dave questions, leaning back in his chair.

Noah swallows slightly, "Yes. I'm a bit worried about him. He-" Noah cuts herself off when her classroom door opens. Jack walks in with a smile. Noah smiles back but it drops when she notices the barely forming bruise on his cheek, "I have to go actually, I'll call Mr. Hotchner after school." she hangs up her phone before he could respond and motions Jack to the seat in front of her desk.

"I'm going to go ask Ms. Greene a question and I'll be back. Stay here okay Jack." Noah instructs earning a hesitant nod from the kid. Noah rushes out of the room, shoving the back exit door of the school open in a haste, earning the attention of Jenna.

The brunette looks at her in confusion, "Are you okay Noah?" she asks a hint of worry lacing her tone. Her friend looked pale.

Noah shakes her head, motioning the teacher to come to her. Jenna obliges. "Can you merge our classes for the rest of the day. I need to call Jack's dad, it's not good." Jenna glances at the classroom window then back at Noah.

"Of course."

"Thanks Jen."

"Mhm."

Noah walks back into the school. Jack hadn't moved from his seat and had chosen to be stoic. Noah sighed to herself, walking towards her desk, leaning in front of it like she was previously when she was talking to David.

Smiling down at the student in front of her, Noah licks her lips in apprehension, "So Jack, do you know why we're talking?" Noah needed to know if he knew she knew.

Jack looks up at her, she knew. "No." it was a lie and they both knew it.

Nodding, Noah folds her hands into one another, not taking her eyes off of them, "I don't think I deserve being lied to Jack." Noah knew this was the only tactic that would make him crack. Guilt.

He looks away from her, "I'm not-"

"Jack I've known you for years, I know when you lie."

He stays silent.

Sitting down in front of her desk, Noah nods to her right side. Jack get's the message and sits next to her.

"Is it your dad?"

Jack shakes his head heavily, "Dad would never lay a hand on me." he proclaims.

Noah doesn't glance at him knowing it wouldn't help, "Then who did?"

He stay quiet for a moment. Jack knew he couldn't lie anymore he just didn't know how to get the words out. He wanted his daddy happy and Gen seemed to make him happy then again he could be acting as well as Jack did. His dad was were he got that from.

"Remember when I told you dad was getting married."

Noah shakes her head silently in disbelief, "I do."

"Her names Gen, she's not that nice."

"Is she the one who hits you?"

"I just think she get's mad you know. I don't think she's a bad person."

"I'm sure she's not."

He turns to look at Noah so she looks at him. Sighing Noah sends him a small smile, "But that doesn't mean she doesn't do bad things does it?" she asks.

He nods quietly, "It doesn't hurt though, I can take it."

Noah shakes her head at him, "Jack you don't have to. You shouldn't have to." Noah was ready to kill the bitch.

He nods looking away, "I know."

Noah looks away to, "Do you want me to call someone to pick you up. I need to talk to your dad." she mumbles.

Jack leans his head on her shoulder, "Could you call Uncle Derek?" he asks.

Noah nods, leaning her head on his, "Of course."
