-Kaede Akamatsu's POV-

Another week flew by, and pretty soon it was the weekend again. Shuichi was over at my house, just chilling with me, when I saw something out the window. I stood up and walked over to the window. I couldn't believe my eyes. Where earlier it was bare grass, my backyard had been filled with snow!

"Shuichi, come over here and take a look at this!" I squeal.

"What's so interesting over by the window?" He asks as he wanders over and his eyes widen at the sight. It was definitely a deep snow for... FOUR HOURS!? Wow... we'd been here for a while.

"So... do you want to go outside?" I ask, hoping he says yes.

"Sure... do you want to invite Kaito and Maki over, though?" He asks. I suppose I shouldn't be upset that he wanted to invite our other best friends over, but something inside me was sad and sort of disappointed. I picked up my phone and called Maki.

"Hello?" her voice said on the other end.

"Oo Makiroll who's calling you?" another voice said on the end.

"Kaito you idiot, shut up, it's Kaede," Maki groaned.

"Oh, hi Kaed- OWWW Makiroll what was that for?" Kaito whined. Those two... I shook my head.

"Would you two like to come over to hang out in the snow?" I asked. I heard some shuffling and what sounded like a "yes" in Kaito's voice.

"We'll be right over," Maki said. We hung up and Shuichi looked... relieved? Maki lives close-ish to me, so Shuichi and I ran downstairs. Three minutes later, my doorbell rang. I gave Shuichi his coat and I picked up mine, too.

"H-" I said, opening the door. Before I could finish my word, I got a face full of snow. Ow... I open my eyes and I see Kaito doubled over laughing. "Oh come ON, it wasn't THAT funny!" I said, grinning. I bent over and picked up some snow, rolling it into a little ball. Before I can throw it, however, Maki swiftly throws about four at her boyfriend. A small series of "ow"s followed as he picked up a lot more snow and threw some at his girlfriend. I turn around just in time to see a blaze of white streaking towards me, coming from Shuichi's direction.

"Hey!" I said, giggling. I throw another snowball, this time at him, missing badly. Kaito then decided to throw some well-packed snow at Shuichi. Just as it was flying towards him, I don't know why, but I blocked it from hitting Shuichi with my own face. As Maki and Kaito kept throwing snowballs at each other (and we kept hearing constant "ow"ing from Kaito), Shuichi and I just stood there, watching them. I sighed watching them. As if I was being possessed by some force, I turned to my side and hugged Shuichi.

"Huh?! What's this for!?" he asked, shocked.

"I don't know... I just wanted to!" I said, a dumb smile crossing my face as I looked at him. He was blushing furiously, but eventually hugged me back.

Eventually Kaito, Maki and Shuichi had to go. I ate dinner with my family, played piano, and so on and so forth. I started to take the clips out of my hair when I felt a burning desire to talk to someone. Well... the only person who came to mind was Maki, especially for this kind of a thing.

Me: Hey, Maki?

Me: Can I talk to you about something?

Maki: It's eleven thirty at night, Kaede. What do you need?

Me: It's about Shuichi...

Maki and I stayed up until three in the morning talking. Well... I guess I needed that off of my chest.

A/N: What do you guys think they talked about? Only time will tell, and only I know right now. I hope you enjoyed this part of the story. I tried making this really good to compensate for SOMEONE'S HEARTBREAKING chapter. It definitely didn't do much, but I HOPE YOU'RE PROUD OF YOURSELF. Anyway I'm probably gonna make brownies soon. Bye <3
