Face The Music (A Saimatsu Story)

Christmas- Part Two

When the group of friends arrived at Kirumi Tojo's house, they were all a little nervous. This night had something big in store for everyone, most of all Kaede Akamatsu and Shuichi Saihara. 

Ding! Shuichi got a text from a groupchat. It turned out it was the upperclassman couple that had "adopted" him- Makoto Naegi and Kyoko Kirigiri. 

Makoto: Go get 'er :D

Kyoko: Good luck, Saihara.

The poor detective had no idea how the two knew about his plan tonight, but he wasn't gonna question it. The four entered the building and their afternoon/evening began.

Now, as we know, there are a few sides to each story. Tonight's starts with Kaede's side.

Kaede Akamatsu's POV

I walked into the party, not fully sure how I expected things to go. I have to make my move here. If I don't, then I'll never know what could've been. Maki texted me good luck as she went to go threaten our classmates.

"Hey, Akamatsu!" An easygoing voice said from behind me.

"AMAMI! You scared me, hah..." I said. I guess I was shaking a little bit... 

"You alright?" He asked, genuinely. Amami was a nice guy in our class. Easy and chill. 

"Well- yes- I mean no- but it's nothing you should be concerned about!" I cried. 

"Okay, well if you have anything to ask me don't be afraid to," He smiled.

"Well- I guess there is one thing..." I asked him uncertainly.

"And that is...?"

"Do you have any mistletoe?" I asked sheepishly.

"Woah what?" I'd never seen Amami so shocked.

"Before you get the wrong idea, I don't have feelings for you! I know you have a boyfriend!" I yelled defensively, my face heating up.

"Who's the lucky person?" Amami asked, teasing me.

"Just- do you have any mistletoe?" I said, annoyed.

"Yeah, follow me..."

Once the sprig was secured, I set out to do some mingle-ing. The party wouldn't really get into full swing until around 9 at night, so I figured I still had some time. I put everyone's gifts by the tree and decided to talk to Tenko and Himiko about how their relationship was going. At this rate, I'm going to need all the help I can get...

Meanwhile, a couple doors over...

Shuichi Saihara POV

"WHAT DO I DO? WHAT DO I SAY? HELP MOMOTA HELP!!!" I yelled, scared. 

"Relax, bro," Kaito said grinning. "We know she likes you, so don't sweat it. Just show her how awesome you are and she can't reject you!"

"I don't think it works like that..." I frowned. 

"My point is, don't sweat it. If she doesn't like you, she's missing out," Kaito proclaimed. That made me feel a bit better, anyway. "Project get good ol' Saihara a girlfriend is a go!"

"Okay, but how?" I asked for a second time. This guy was no help.

"I don't have a handbook on ways to get girls! I'm not some sort of wish granting ghost! What do you take me for? However, I do know one girl who could help you..." Kaito smirked. Oh no... If he brings in her, I'm so done for... 

"Hi there! My spidey senses were tingling!" Tsumugi Shirogane grinned.

"Your... what?" Kaito asked.

"Ah, wrong universe, sorry... What's up, guys?" Shirogane smiled. Wrong universe... what the...?

"We need to get my good friend here some help in getting a certain girl to accept his love confession later today," Kaito told her.

"Okay..." Shirogane whipped out her laptop and began taking notes. "Age?"

"16?"

"Eye colour?"

"Magenta."

"Trope?"

"I'm sorry... what?" I asked.

"Like... what would your romance trope be? Enemies to lovers, childhood best friends, friends to lovers....? Something along those lines," she replied.

"I don't know? I guess friends to lovers?" I told her. I'm still confused on that that question meant, but it's not my questionnaire. 

"Perfect! I'll have project Get The Girl ready soon! Thank you!" Shirogane grinned. I'm scared. I didn't say that, of course. 

"Thank you-" I start to say before she whisks off to plan. "This is gonna be a trainwreck..."

-3rd person-

Kaede Akamatsu and Shuichi Saihara were all set to confess to each other. It was almost gift exchange time, and right after then was when it was set to happen. Rantaro and Kokichi sat together by the fire sharing some cocoa and the couples in the class were doing their things while the single people played some good ol' truth or dare. Mostly mild stuff except for when it was Miu's turn or Kokichi chipped in from by the fire. Then the moment arrived. The group of students sat by the fire, smiling and giving each other gifs.

"SICK!!! I got astronaut ice cream?!??!" 

"A NEW COSPLAY!!! I could've made it myself, but now I can be Sakura Nanamine from TBHK!!!!" 

"Tsumugi nobody knows what you're talking about..."

"Oh- Kaede you got my books by my favorite author? Thank you so much..."

"Ehe! It's no problem Shuichi!"

And so on it went. Kaede went in for it.

"Hey... Saihara? Can you come over here with me?" She said with a quiver in her voice.

"Y-yeah, sure..." Shuichi's face paled as he saw where she was taking him. The class gasped (if they were paying attention) and all smiled. Even Miu smirked when she saw the two go under the archway from the hall into the living room. Tsumugi did a silent celebration, for she hadn't really planned anything at all. 

"Shuichi... I-" Kaede began. Just then, the doorbell rang. All faces in the room fell.

"I'll get it," Kirumi said.

"Who's ringing doorbells on Christmas?" Korekiyo asked.

"Some virgin hoping to get laid, I assume!" Miu laughed. The doorbell had broken Kaede and Shuichi from their little trances and were now profusely blushing.

"I- I'm sorry! I don't know what came over me there!" Kaede fumbled with her words. 

"You might want to see this..." Kirumi said, pale as a ghost. She was holding a slip of paper in her hand and shaking.

"What?" Shuichi asked, bringing Kaede over to look. 

The note read: 

"'Seek them out now one by one'... is that how the song goes? I'd watch your back, detective boy. You never know who's next. It might even be your precious little piano girl..."

Author's Note-

Hi there! It took me a few days to finish this chapter, but even though it's short I wanted something to be proud of. I know this story didn't really seem like it was going anywhere, so I hope this will make it more interesting. Obviously this isn't done, I'm trying my best! I hope I'm not letting you all down!
