Chloe stood at the nurses station with Mark "Sloan, have you heard from Derek" Webber asked as he walked over. Chloe and Mark held a look

"no" mark said as he walked off, Chloe walked with him and sighed

"I hate this, I hate the fact I came between you and Derek. He is your oldest friend Mark" Chloe said as he looked to her and smiled

"me and Derek will be fine. We always are and you didn't come between us, he is using that as an excuse but you haven't come between us. Okay" he said as he pulled her close and smiled

"I have to go and find my useless interns but I will see you for the facial surgery" she said as he nodded, he pulled her close and kissed her

"I'll see you later" he said as Chloe smiled. Chloe walked off as she found her interns and sighed

"we have a case and it's a sensitive one. Anyone says anything then there's off the case. This is one of the biggest surgeries you may ever get near so pay attention. The patient is a 38 year old male who was hit by a drunk driver 12 years ago. He suffered Severus facial trauma, he's got no nose, no lips, he's had nine reconstructive surgeries. None of which have brought back fill for, or function. This surgery has only been done four times worldwide, and all of the candidates have to undergo extensive psychological testing to determine whether or not they can handle the process. That aside, this surgery has a high chance of rejection or infection" Chloe said as she walked into the patient room. She looked to see Mark and smiled

"ladies and gentlemen this is davina young and today he will be receiving a face transplant" Mark said

Chloe stood by the nurses station as she discharged a patient as mark walked over to her

"I need your help" he

said "why Bailey already assigned your team for the facial transplant and that's clearly not your girlfriend" she said as he looked to her and smirked "I love it when you say that. But really I need your help. I only trust you Chlo, something weird is going on with stevens and I don't know what is it" mark said as she looked to him and sighed

"what do you need" she asked as he looked to her and smiled

"this is why you are my girl" he said as he wrapped an arm around her as they walked back into the patient room. Chloe looked to him and rolled her eyes.

"your such a charmer you know that" Chloe said as she walked into the patient room as she started to prep him for surgery as he walked behind her and smiled "that's why you love me" he said as she looked to him and smiled

"yeah maybe" Chloe said as he looked to her and chuckled.

Chloe knew how fast her relationship with mark was going and how it partly scared her but she did want to make it work

"i had you by my side" he said as he pulled her close and kissed her

"Chloe" Bailey said as Chloe frowned

"I'll see you later" Chloe said

"what's up" Chloe asked

"I need to talk to you it's over izzie" Bailey said as Chloe frowned

"Izzie has stage four metastatic melanoma that has spread to her brain. Liver and skin. She may only have months to live and she is resisting treatment" Bailey said as Chloe looked to her shocked, she was shocked at what she was hearing

Chloe looked as mark waled over to where she was. She looked to him for a moment as she grabbed him and kissed him

"doctor Torres" he said

"Izzie has cancer and I...I just want to show you, show everyone what you mean to me as life is short and I love you" Chloe said as he smiled

"I love you too. Are you okay" he asked as she nodded

"I will be I just need to be there for my friend. And I need you to be there for me" Chloe said as mark smiled

"I'm here" he said as she pecked his cheek and walked off into Izzie room and smiled as she sat next to her bed knowing she had to be there for her friend
