A man named Bryan sat on the couch in his living room, the TV in front of him turned off like usual. He wore a red turtleneck and black sweatpants, his now long brown hair messily held back in a ponytail. If you looked into his brown eyes, you wouldn't see the once happy and mischievous man he once was, but you would instead see dull eyes holding only sadness and misery.
Bryan had been living alone for five years, but to him it felt like it had been centuries. No had reached out to contact him, no one even seemed to care about him anymore. He hated his life, and wished for his daughter and husband back every day.
And today, he finally got up with a purpose, though it wasn't a good purpose. He left his house and walked to a very specific path that he remembered so very well. A path that would lead to the last place he had felt whole in, and to the place that no ruined his life. The SCP containment center, the one he had worked at for years. He took a deep breath, and opened the door.

"Bryan, you be careful while exploring the wood okay? I don't want you getting hurt, you hear me?" Bryan's mother said while a 15 year old Bryan put on his coat at the door. Bryan had always been an adventurous kid, and he was just as adventurous as a teenager.
Bryan's parents had always been supportive of him though. They had taken him across the world to places where he could explore and be free, and he loved them for it. The family finally settled down in a down with large beautiful forests when Bryan turned 15, and Bryan loved to go out and explore them.
"I'll be careful mom, I promise!" Bryan said, hugging his mom. His mom sighed and gave a kiss on the forehead, Bryan leaving after with an "I love you" that was swiftly returned.

Bryan had now been wandering the forest for hours, and had found an abandoned paintball area. He had heard about this place and how the place had realistic looking guns and props, but because it was in the middle of nowhere, no one went there and it had gone bankrupt and been abandoned.
Bryan picked up one of the paintball guns the place had, and agreed that the guns were very realistic. If Bryan hadn't known better, he would have thought it was a real gun. Bryan walked out into the play area, and gasped when saw a man wherein a red jacket and jeans standing in the middle of the grass.
"Man" might not have been an accurate description. The man had black skin and black horns with purple tips. On his back was a pair of black and purple wings, and below them was a black tail with spikes. He was more dragon than man, and Bryan wasn't sure if he was dangerous or not.
The dragon-man suddenly turned and looked at Bryan, revealing his beautiful purple eyes, and Bryan pointed his paintball gun at him in fear quickly. The man turned fully to Bryan and spread his wings out in surprise. The two stood there,p looking at each other for a bit, both of their eyes wide.
"Are you... pointing a paint gun at me?" The dragon-man then asked. Bryan stood silently for a moment, before nodding in embarrassment. After another moment of silence, the dragon-man began to laugh and soon Bryan joined him, dropping the gun on the ground.
"I'm Rhino by the way, Rhino Dragon." The dragon-man said, walking up to Bryan. He extended his hand in greeting, a warm smile on his face.
"Bryan, Bryan Films. I gotta say, I've never seen anyone quite like you before." Bryan said, shaking Rhino's hand with his own smile.
"Well, part dragon people aren't super common and those that do exist aren't in public often. All the paint guns tend to scare us away." Rhino said jokingly, though there was a bit of sadness in his voice.

Rhino and Bryan continued to talk until the sunset, and after that they would meet up in that abandoned paintball arena and talk. The two became very close, and it was no question that they were friends. However, the more they hung out the more they both developed feelings for the other that went beyond just being friends.
They were in love, no questions about it, but they kept these feelings secret. After all, what they had between them at the time was amazing, and they didn't want to risk it just for a chance of having something more.
At least, not yet.
