Lexi-Mae's POV

''All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out. He used the Internet as an escape hatch.'' Bruce sighed.

''Ultron.'' Steve huffed.

''He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other.'' Natasha explained.

''He's in your files, he's in the Internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?'' Rhodey suggested.

''Nuclear codes.'' Maria piped up.

''Nuclear codes.'' Rhodey confirmed.

As everyone talked, I made my way over to where Clint was stood. He wrapped an arm around me and I buried my face in his jacket, ''He also said he killed somebody.''

''There wasn't anyone else in the building.'' Maria pointed out. 'Not entirely true.' I thought to myself.

''Yes, there was.'' My dad chimed in, sighing and revealing the same golden sphere from a few days ago. JARVIS. Except there were tints of blue in the hologram...

Bruce stepped forward, analysing the hologram, ''What? This is insane.''

''JARVIS was the first line of defence. He would have shut Ultron down, it makes sense.'' Steve uttered.

''No. Ultron could have assimilated JARVIS. This isn't strategy. This is... rage.''

From there, Thor stormed in and grabbed my dad by the neck. I gasped and hugged Clint tightly.

''Come on, use your words, buddy.'' My dad strained, trying to wriggle out of Thor's grasp.

''I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark.'' Thor boomed.

''Thor. The Legionnaire.'' Steve interrupted, causing Thor to put my dad down.

''Trail went cold about 100 miles out, but it's headed North. And it had the sceptre.'' Thor snapped. ''Now we have to retrieve it, again.''

''Genie's out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron.'' Natasha sighed, crossing her arms across her chest.

''I don't understand.'' Dr. Cho began, turning around to face my dad, ''Why is it trying to kill us?''

My dad walked over to the computer and turned away, then started... laughing? Bruce started shaking his head at him as a 'no, shut up, Tony.' My dad paid no attention to him as everyone in the room stared at him blankly.

''You think this funny?'' Thor questioned.

My dad turned around to face the demi-god, ''No. It's probably not, right? This is very terrible. Is it so...'' he trailed off as he chuckled again, ''Is it so... It is. It's so terrible.''

''You wouldn't say.'' I cut across him, desperate to blurt out a sarcastic remark.

''This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand.'' Thor snapped at my dad.

''No. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this.'' Dad strolled over to Thor and got in his face.

'Bad move, dad.' I sighed mentally.

''Tony, this might not be the right time.'' Bruce sang quietly.

''Really?'' Dad turned towards the doctor, ''That's it? You just roll over, show your belly every time somebody snarls?''

''Only when I've created a murder bot.''

Ultron... that gold ball. And the blue one... Well, damn.

''We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?'' Dad spat. By now, Bruce was nodding vigorously.

''Well, you did something right.'' Steve cut my dad off before he could did himself further into the already too-deep hole he was stranded in, ''And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than S.H.I.E.L.D.''

My dad rolled his eyes, ''Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?''

I signalled for Uncle Rhodey to try and stop my dad before doing anything he'd regret, not that he regrets much anyways...

''No, it's never come up.''

''Saved New York?'' Dad continued.

''Never heard that.'' The entire team was now rolling their eyes at my dad. Do I blame them? No.

''Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing 300 feet below it.'' He took a breath before continuing, ''We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day, but that up there, that's... that's the endgame. How were you guys planning on beating that?''

I sighed, not wanting to hear anymore of this. But I couldn't exactly walk out.

''Together.'' Steve answered for him.

''We'll lose.''

''Then we'll do that together too.''

I wriggled out of Clint's grasp and walked out, having enough of my dad being such a dull bore. He had no faith in the team and he was making it obvious, letting them all know. How does he expect to win all these fights if he has no optimism? Of course, he has hope in his own inventions, but nobody else's. Sometimes he could be so selfish.

I went to my room and snatched Bunny up, cuddling him close and sat on my bed. I'd heard Steve and my dad talking about their recent mission and was wondering about something called 'The Enhanced.' I wanted to find out about what it was but I forgot. Until now, that is.

''Hey, JARVIS. What does 'enhanced' mean?'' I quickly asked.

''To intensify a specific something. May I ask why you're asking, Miss. Stark?'' JARVIS answered.

Should I tell him? Would he say anything to my dad? No, he's a robot...

''Uh, well.. I heard my dad and Steve talking about this thing a few days ago about their recent mission. Just wondering what they were talking about...'' I trailed off, thinking I'd said too much.

Before JARVIS could reply, someone else did, ''The Enhanced twins.''

I looked up at my doorway to see Thor, ''Irritating little minxes, they are.'' He came and sat beside me on my bed.

''Twins? How are they enhanced?'' I queried.

Thor didn't reply for a moment, probably thinking what to say without giving too much information to me, ''Some... things happened with them and another certain person. They have powers, basically.''

''Like you?''

He chuckled, ''A bit like me, little Stark. Now, how about you get ready for bed?''

I nodded, so he said goodnight and left the room. I quickly got up, leaving Bunny on my bed, and changed into my pyjamas. I scrambled into bed and under the covers, turning the light out and pulling Bunny close. Soon, I felt my consciousness ebbing away...
