CHAPTER 17: AWKWARD

THIRD PERSON POV

"Irene?" The tall girl was startled to see her ex girlfriend.

"Lisa, it was so nice to see you again. It's been a long time." Irene went closer to them and hug the taller woman much to the shock of Jennie.

The kitten makes her presence felt by letting a not so subtle cough. Lisa quickly catch up and introduce the two.

"Ah, Jennie, this is Irene. Irene, this is Jennie."

"Hi, Irene. Please to meet you." The stranger extends her hand.

"Jennie." The feline-eyed answered.

"Ah, how do you tow know each other?" Jennie curiously asked.

The smaller girl speaks abruptly much to the dismay of Lisa. 

"We met in college. Her friend and I were clubmates. He introduced us and we clicked immediately."

Deja vu Jennie thought. She just heard that story a few minutes again. She tries to shake of the idea but as she observes how the Irene looks and moves around her monkey...no this cannot be, she thought.

"What are you doing here in Korea?"

"I'm an audit consultant in a small bank here. They want me to oversea the acquisition of the bank."

"Really? What's the name of the bank?" Lisa asked. 

"Jeonju Rural Bank." Lisa's eyes widened as she looked at Jennie who is also shocked.

"Jeonju? Are you sure about that?" Lisa asked.

"Yup. I know that you're the COO of the bank that wants to acquire it. I'm excited to work with you Lisayah. Just like the old times." Irene's said in full aegyo which irritated Jennie more.

"Just like the old times? Why? Is Lisa also the member of the club?" Jennie does not know if it is the right thing to do but she really wants to know if her hunch was right.

If Jennie could turn back time, she will not asked that question again. Upon hearing her question, Irene's face became a blushing mess as the smaller girl face Lisa and softly said,

"Not really. But Lisa here, she was...we used to be together." Irene shyly explained and bowed her head.

"Oh, THE EX-GIRLFRIEND. We we're just talking about you." Jennie's irritation or should she say jealousy is now at its peak. She needs to do something because apparently Lisa became mute since she saw her ex.

"Good things I hope."

"Oh, yes. Well, Lisa here wants to be very honest to me. Like all the people who's courting someone. They want to be very honest about their intentions and such." Jennie emphasized the word courting just to prove her point.

"Oh." was the only word that Irene said upon hearing the kitten. Meanwhile, Lisa was in a dilemma. She did not expect to see Irene and more so she did not expect to see her with Jennie. The only woman that she care and love more than anything in the world. 

"I did not know that you two are on a date." Irene apologized as soon as she recovered from the sudden revelation.

"No worries. You're her friend and ex. I think it is better that I met you and get to talk to you too."

"I better go now. I'm so sorry again for ruining your date. Enjoy the rest of the night, Lisa, Jennie." Irene was about to go when Lisa suddenly remembers something. She needs to warn Irene that she cannot mention to anyone that she and Jennie are dating. Specially if they will work together.

"Irene. Wait a second. Let me walk you to your table." Much to Jennie's surprise.

"Jennie, wait for me okay. I just to talk to her. I will explain later." Jennie just nod. She cannot believe that Lisa will quickly jumped to her ex.

After a few minutes, the tall girl came back. She immediately saw a fuming kitten and she swears that she was never been scared for her life until now.

"Speak. Explain it to me. Why do you have to freeze like that? Why do you have to walk her to her table, she's not injured Lisa."

"Sweetie---"

"Don't call me sweetie. I'm not your girlfriend!"

Lisa took a deep breath before she starts explaining.

"I did not freeze, okay. Just like you I'm shocked that she was here coupled with that fact that she will be working with us. I also followed her to say that the office peeps should not know that we are dating since gossips could start and I do not want you or us to be the center of it. It is okay if it was only me. They can call me names and what not but if they will include you..."

She stops. Anger is starting to creep in just by imagining the possible scenarios if her employees will start to gossip and call Jennie names.

"If they will include then what Lisa?"

"Then I will have to fire them all, Jennie." the COO said with full seriousness. She meant it. She cannot bear to hear hurtful words thrown to Jennie. The accountant was taken a back by the sudden reaction of the taller girl, instantly making her blush.

"Ahm, Jennie. I just want to say one thing."

"What is it?"

"You look so hot when you are being territorial and jealous." Lisa cannot help but stifle a laugh.

"Yah! I'm not territorial and jealous." the feline eye kitten crossed he arms while pouting.

The sight was too much for Lisa that she pinch the puffy cheeks of Jennie.

"Ah...you're so cute sweetie. Anyway, shall we continue where we left?"

"I do not know. Right now I'm having doubts. Don't you think?" Jennie sarcastically said and Lisa laugh even more.

"What is so funny Monkey?"

"Nothing." Lisa slowly leans to reach the kitten's hand.

"I'm sorry for laughing. Okay. Let me finish the thing that I was saying before we were interrupted." Hearing no reply the COO continue.

"Jennie Kim, the first time that I was instantly drawn to you. The more I work with you, the more that I get to know you, the more I was attracted to you. I don't know where it really started but one thing is for sure, eventhough you tried to pull the zoothingy on me, I thank you for giving me the chance to prove you that I only have good intentions for you." Lisa paused trying to catch her breath.

"And if you will allow me, let me prove it more to you this time in a more deeper way. So, Jennie Kim, my sweetie, will you be officially my girlfriend?"

Lisa hold her breath while waiting for an answer. When Jennie finally speaks, Lisa cannot believe what she just heard.

"No Lisa."
