description: george never knew he liked flowers so much until he realized he loved the person giving them to him.

(let me know what you guys think)

——————————————————————

george got home after a dreadful day of work. his daily routine was simple.

wake up

go to work for 5-7 hours a day

come home

get take out

shower

sleep

repeat

nothing was fun in his life. he had a few friends but he never felt connected to them personally. all except for alex.

he knew alex ever since they were school boys. he would tell him every single detail if his day before he died and he would listen.

everyday, no matter that time, alex would always be there for george. until he got into a car accident last week.

they held his funeral yesterday which sent george into a state of depression. he had no one else.

he got off work early to visit his grave. it was only 7:42 pm on a thursday night. george sighed and put down his bags and turned back to go back to his car.

he drove to the nearest flower shop holding back tears. "ok just go in there and buy flowers. orchids." he said to himself remembering that's what alex's favorite flowers were.

he walking into the shop and was greeted by a small girl. "hi welcome to sunshine flowers!" the little girl said. "hi" i said back nodding at her.

george walked over to the orchids looking at the colors. "hello sir, can i help you find anything today?" a voice of a man said. he look up to see a dirty blonde fellow with green eyes smiling. "uhh yes actually-" he hesitated.

"can you please tell me which orchid is purple" he said slightly embarrassed. the blonde looked at the different options and picked up a bouquet of flowers.

"you got the last bouquet! lucky lad i'd say" he smiled. "yeah..lucky" george said as he faked a smile.

"is that all for you today?" the blonde asked asked. "yeah i guess so" george said lazily. his face felt so numb with emotion.

"ok would you like a note with it?" he asked. "no thanks" the brunette said plainly. "ok your total is 13.46" he said clicking on the register.

george gave him the money leaving the change with him wanting to get out there. "have a nice day sir" the little girl said more quiet than before.

"thank you....alyssa" george said looking at her name tag. she gave him a warm smile as he walked out of the door allowing the bell to ring once again.

"hey clay, is it just me or does it look like he was about to break down?" alyssa said staring at the stranger driving off.

"maybe the flowers were for a loved one he lost" clay assumed. he was right. alex was the only person he had trusted.

the tears george had been holding back flooded down his cheeks as his drove silently missing the sound of alex's laugh in the passenger seat beside him.

once he made it to the cemetery, he locked his car and held the flowers delicately in one arm.

the sun had already almost disappeared under the horizon leaving a golden beam shine on the tombstones.
