She went and got money from her parents. Tommy came along with us.

"How long do you think it will take?" he asked.

"However long it takes to find the perfect dress. Could be minutes, could be hours, could be days," I answered solemnly.

"Days?" his eyes widened.

"Relax. I'm just kidding. I think," I laughed.

We got the directions to the local mall. It was pretty easy to walk anywhere from our house. We entered the mall. We found a shop that looked promising. I leafed through the dresses. Only a pale green one with off the shoulder sleeves caught my eye, but even then, it wasn't what I wanted. Rose on the other hand, had better luck. She found one that had a square neck with buttons down to the waist and small floral patterns all over it.

I nodded with approval. "You should try it on!"

"Alright," she said, heading into a changing room. About a minute later, she came out. I had to admit, it looked pretty good on her.

"You should get that one!" I exclaimed.

"I know! I am!" she replied happily.

She changed back and bought the dress. We walked in and out of a few shops with no luck. I guess I'm picky with what I wear. Tommy looked both bored and annoyed out of his mind.

"This is taking forever! Why don't you just pick a dress, like this nice one here," he said, pointing to a floor length dress with tiger patterns all over it. It had a thick leather belt at the waist.

I wrinkled my nose in disgust. "Ew! Of course not!"

Tommy just rolled his eyes. That was when I saw it. The perfect dress. I ran over to it. It was a flowy lavender dress with spaghetti straps. The v-neck had purple lace on it. I grabbed it immediately.

"Look at this! It is amazing!" I giggled.

"Yeah. It is. Just go ahead and try it on. I want to get out of here," Tommy commented.

I went into the changing room and tried it on. It fit perfectly. It reached a bit below my knees. I walked out to show everyone.

"Wow," Tommy said. "That actually looks pretty good."

"Yeah," Rose agreed.

"Thanks!" I smiled, heading back into the changing room.

I got my normal clothes on. I paid for the dress. I had thirty pounds left. We left the mall.

"Wait, what about you, Tommy? What will you wear?" I brought up.

"Wilbur said he might have something that used to fit him that I could wear," he resolved.

We walked back to the rental house, dresses in hand. I hung it up in my room

After that, Tommy was at Wilbur's house getting an outfit. Rose and I took a walk around the town. We got stopped by a group of a few girls and boys that looked a bit older than me.

"Pardon me, but are you Invisibledragonfly and her friend Rose? We saw you earlier and thought you were but we wanted to make sure," one of the girls said.

"Yeah, that's us," I told them.

"You look shorter in real life," another one said to me.

One of them scoffed at her. "Don't be rude, Bree!"

"Sorry," she mumbled.

I laughed. "It's alright. I get told that a lot. Mostly by Tommy."

"Oh! We also meant to ask if you guys were going to the Shoreline Ball on Friday," the other girl spoke up.
