Lunch rolled around. Tommy came up to me.
"Would you like to go somewhere for lunch? Just me and you?" he asked a bit nervously.
"Like a date?" I responded.
"Yeah, like that."
"Sure. You're being such a simp right now," I laughed.
"I am not!" he protested.
I just shrugged.
"Mom, I'm going out with Tommy!" I yelled to my mom.
"I already knew that!" she shouted back.
"No! We're going to get lunch somewhere!" I corrected her.
"Alright! Don't go too far!"
We left and we walked to what was a small cafe. We walked inside. It smelled amazing. We sat ourselves at a table. I ordered grilled cheese with french fries.
"You know," I mentioned. "This would actually be my first date."
"What about our Minecraft dates?" he asked, slightly offended.
I giggled. "In real life is what I meant."
He relaxed. "Oh, alright."
The waiter brought us our drinks. Tommy blew the paper from the straw at my face and it hit me. I wadded up a paper napkin and threw it at him. He threw his napkin at me. I ripped it up into small pieces and threw them at him. It stuck in his hair. We both were laughing pretty hard. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a group of girls who were probably 12 walking to our table. One of them had a Dream sweatshirt.
"Hi!" one of them said nervously.
We both looked up from laughing.
"Hello!" we said in unison.
I took a quick glance at Tommy, who still had bits of napkin in his hair. I reached my hand up and shook them out.
"Sorry if we're bothering you, but could we get a picture?" she asked.
"You're not bothering us at all! Of course you could!" Tommy answered.
She excitedly set up her phone on the wall. She and her three other friends posed around us. The timer counted down from three. On one, Tommy picked me up and it caught me by surprise. We all laughed again. The picture turned out surprisingly well. We sat back down at our table and our food came. It was pretty good. We paid and went back to our house.
"How was your date?" my mom asked as we walked in the front door.
"It was pretty good, thanks!" I told her.
By now, it was 1:30. We planned to meet up at the restaurant at 5. I decided to start getting ready because I had nothing better to do. I touched up my hair. I decided to simply straighten it a bit more and pin it back with a small pearl barrette. For makeup, I did mascara and light blush with a bit of lip gloss. Very minimal. I decided to wait to put on my dress. It was around 2:15 now, still a good 3 hours until we actually went anywhere. I decided to help Rose get ready. I did her hair in two dutch braids. I did a light pink eyeshadow to match the flowers on her dress. She also wore mascara and blush. I was annoyed at how slow time was passing. We sat in our room and watched TikToks. It was funny to see all the MCYT edits on my For You Page. It was especially funny because I'd met a lot of those people. I would sometimes surprise people by commenting on InvisibleInnit TikToks. I loved seeing their reactions and it made me smile. I looked at the time and it was 4. I got my dress and put it on. I admired myself in the mirror. I made sure it looked good before going downstairs. Tommy was waiting down there, wearing a suit and tie. He looked adorable. My mom and Mrs. Simons came over to us. They gushed about how great we looked and how quickly we were growing up. They took some pictures of us. Later, Rose, Tommy, and I walked to the restaurant. Wilbur was waiting at a table for us.
"When's he going to be here?" Will asked Tommy.
"In a bit," he answered him.
We figured out who it was as he walked through the door. It was Tubbo! He sat at our booth.
"Hello, everyone! Sorry I'm late!" he exclaimed.
"It's alright, Toby. This is Rose and this is Lindsey," Tommy said, gesturing to us.
"I've never met you in person. So, you're the Lindsey? The one Tommy never shuts up about? That's almost all he's been able to talk about recently. It's always Lindsey this, or Lindsey that!" he added.
Tommy's face was red. "Toby, I-"
"Oh, be quiet. It's true," he said.
I smiled. "Strawberry."
Tommy looked at me. "What was that?"
"I said strawberry."
"I am not!" he cried.
"Stop denying it. You are," I shook my head.
"Fine. I'm only admitting it now."
"Good," I smiled, satisfied.
"We should take a group picture for Instagram," Wilbur brought up. He took his phone out and we all leaned in.
"Don't try anything funny this time," I whispered to Tommy.
He just shrugged. As soon as the picture was taken, he kissed my cheek. I rolled my eyes. The picture came out great, something that fans would love. on the right was Rose and Wilbur, smiling like normal people. Beside that was Tommy and I. I was in the middle of rolling my eyes at Tommy being himself. Tubbo was beside Tommy, looking at him with a surprised smile.
"That's a good one," Wilbur said.
We agreed. We ate our food and walked to the beach. Many people were there. The sun was beginning to set in the horizon.
"I like the view from here," Tommy said beside me.
I looked at him. He was looking at me and not the sunset.
"That's not cliche at all, is it?" I said.
I realized he was recording me so I waved at the camera.
"Do you know what else is cliche?" he asked.
"What?" I wondered.
"The sun is setting. There is a man and a woman standing by each other. Usually in the movies, they-" he started.
"You're a child," I reminded him.
"You ruined it!" he exclaimed.
"Ruined what?"
"This," he replied, grabbing my hands.
He leaned down and kissed me.
"Tommy, let's keep this PG!" Toby called behind us.
"We, uh, weren't doing anything," we both said.
"You were doing something!" he cried.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Tommy said calmly.
"Don't pretend I didn't see that. I did!"
"Alright. You did," I admitted.
"I knew it!" he replied.
