Theodore heard the footsteps coming closer to him. He yelled without turning around 'I want to be alone! Just leave me alone.' He was still unaware that the footsteps belonged to Hermione.

'If that is what you really want.' Hermione answered 'I will leave you but not before I give you some food.' She took the meat pies and fruit from earlier and gave it to Theo.

'Hermione' Theo answered. He was surprised his sister had come to him. 'Sorry for yelling at you. I was expecting it to be Draco or Blaize.'

'It's okay. So do you want me to leave?' Hermione asked him. She understood that everyone dealt with sadness in their own way. She would respect his choice.

'If you want you can stay. But I have to warn you. I'm not great company at the moment.' Theo answered.

'Oh I wasn't aware you ever were good company to begin with.' Hermione joked.

Theo raised an eyebrow at her. 'Maybe you should spend less time with Blaize. I'm afraid he's a bad influence on you.'

'Oh hush, you know I was only joking.' Hermione laughed as she sat down next to Theo. 'So do you want to tell me what you have been doing up here by yourself the entire day?'

Theo pulled out a pocket watch and opened it. On the inside was a small painting of the Nott family. It was made only a few days after Hermione's birth. 'I just like to be by myself on this day. Look at the painting and imagine what life could have been.'

'Can you tell me about them again?' Hermione asked him.

'Again? I have already told you everything I remember about them.' Theo replied.

'Yes, but I just love hearing the stories.' Hermione said looking up at him with puppy dog eyes.

'So our father was like most pureblood fathers. A bit distant and a very proud man. When we were outside of the house we all had to present ourselves as perfect. But when it was just the five of us he would sometimes show a glimmer of emotions. Mother was the epitome of elegance and beauty. She was so sweet and caring. She read as stories before bed and always gave us a kiss goodnight.' Theo began.

'What about Athena? What was she like again?' Hermione asked.

'Athena was the best sister we could have asked for. She was like a second mother. She was six years older then me so that's why she felt very responsible over us. She was brave and smart. You are actually very similar to her. I'm sure the two of you would have ganged up on me all the time.' Theo laughed.

'I wish I could remember them.' Hermoine said sadly. 'Sometimes I try to remember anything about my life before the orphanage. But I just can't.'

'Hermione you were only 2 months when you were ripped away from our lives. It's normal you can't remember.' Theo tried to reassure her. 'Maybe you're lucky you can't remember. At least you don't have nightmares of that night. Or have a dream were you are back home with them as if nothing happened. Those dreams feel so real that for just a moment you forget about what happened. But then you wake up and the truth crashes down on you.'

'It's a blessing and a curse.' said Hermione. 'I wish you didn't have the nightmares.'

'Has anyone told you yet that you are too smart for your age? Sometimes when you talk I forget your only eleven.' Theo laughed as he pulled her into a one armed hug.

'I know it's hard to believe but no nobody has told me that yet. Perhaps they were thinking it though.' Hermione answered.

And so they spend the rest of the night together. Theo telling all kinds of stories about their family and Hermione listening. The stars were already up in the sky when they decided to return to the common room.

'Okay Hermione, I'm going to teach you how to sneak back into the common room without anyone seeing you.' Theo told her.

'Oh but Blaize is the one who has a bad influence on me?' Hermione teased.

'Do you want to get detention? Or are you going to listen to me?' Theo shot back.

'Sorry brother lead the way.' Hermione replied.

'Okay so because it is Halloween we have a better chance at getting back unseen. Most of the teachers probably went to the annual teacher after party and therefor they will be too drunk to do their patrols. They think the students don't know about this tradition but almost everyone does know about it. We can still run into Peeves. That bloody poltergeist loves to get students in trouble. Filtch will probably also be walking around the castle. And if we are unlucky the prefects that are on patrol duty might actually do their job for once instead of chilling in an empty classroom.' Theo started to explain.

'So we just walk to the dungeons and hope for the best?' Hermione asked him.

'We don't just walk there. We stay away from the big corridors. Take the smaller detours instead. Always peak around the corner before you walk into a new hallway. Most import part is you have to really quiet and listen very carefully to the sounds around you.' Theo concluded. 'If you hear anyone coming your way, try to find a broom closet to hide in or a classroom that is unlocked or even a dark alcove. Okay let's go.'

And so the two of them started on their journey back to the common room. It took quite some time because they were using the longer route. But in the end they had managed to reach the common room without getting caught. They bid each other goodnight and then headed to their own dorm rooms.
