'Harry move over. You're taking up way too much space.' Ron told Harry.
'I'm taking up too much space? You have more space than me.' Harry retorted.
'boys honestly you have a whole bench for the two of you. We share the same size bench with the three of us. So stop whining.' Tracy told them. The five of them were sharing an compartment on the Hogwarts express on their way home.
Harry and Ron looked at each other then turned to Tracy and said 'Sorry Trace, you're right.'
'I still feel a little bad about leaving Hagrid all alone for Christmas.' Hermione sighed. He had assured them at their last visit that he would be fine and that he preferred the children to be with their friends. He had given them both a gift that they were only allowed to open on Christmas eve.
'Yeah, me too.' Harry agreed. It had been a hard decision to make. 'We'll visit him the day we return and we'll give him our gifts then. And of course we can send him a card with Hedwig and Hermes.'
'Not to sound mean or anything but he spend every Christmas by himself.' Daphne tried to make her friends feel better.
'I suppose you're right.' Hermione said after that. She still felt a little guilty.
'So boys, we were planning on going shopping on the twenty-second of December. Would you like to join us afterwards for some ice cream and some pumpkin juice?' Daphne asked.
'sure sounds fun.' Ron agreed.
'Oh you know what we should do? A secret santa.' Hermione said excitedly.
'What is a secret santa?' Tracy asked a bit confused.
'secret santa is that everyone buys one gift for one person in the group. So you put all the names in a hat or something and everyone has to take a name. For that person they then have to buy a small gift.' Harry tried to explain.
'That sounds fun!' Daphne exclaimed.
'Okay, so let's say the max amount you're allowed to spend is one gallon. If you pull your own name from the hat you have to take another name and put yours back.' Hermione further explained. She then wrote down all their names on pieces of parchment. Meanwhile Harry looked in his trunk for a hat.
Daphne was the first to pull from the hat. Then Tracy, Hermione then Ron and Harry took the last name.
'Remember it's secret santa. So you can't show or tell anyone who you pulled from the hat. Even to a person that you didn't pull from the hat.' Hermione reminded everyone.
'So when will we exchange the gifts?' asked Ron.
'Maybe during the ice cream? Or we can wait until we go back to school and do it during the train ride?' Harry offered.
'I would suggest we do it during the train ride. That way everyone has enough time to find a fitting gift.' Hermione countered.
'Yeah let's go with the train ride back.' Tracy agreed. The others nodded in agreement.
The rest of the train ride passed by pretty uneventful. Until Theo came to their compartment.
'Hey Hermione, when we get to the station I want you to wait by the exit for me. Don't go through without me okay?' Theo told her strictly. 'Unless you see me and Draco earlier then you can just come straight to us.'
'okay.' Hermione agreed.
'I need you to promise me you won't leave the platform without me. I need to hear you say it.' Theo said again.
'Theo relax. I promise I won't leave without you.' Hermione said again.
'Okay. Sorry I don't really like king cross. I thought I got over it mostly but now that I have my sister again, the anxiety and stress came back.' Theo sighed. He then saw Harry and Ron sitting. 'I see you still spend your time with the blood traitor and with the orphan. You need to think about your company a bit better.'
'Theo! Stop it. These are my friends. You know Harry is like a brother to me. If you can't accept him then I will be forced to no longer talk to you.' Hermione told him fiercely.
'Hermione, he is the reason mother, father and our sister are no longer with us. How can you keep defending him?' Theo shot back.
'We have gone over this a million times already. Harry was a baby! He is in no way to blame for this. Now please leave. You are being a jerk.' Hermione told her brother.
'I can't believe you.' Theo snapped at her before he turned on his heel and stormed off.
'I'm sorry 'Mione.' Harry began to apologize. But he was quickly interrupted by Hermione.
'Harry, don't you dare apologize. You did absolutely nothing wrong. Theo is being a jerk.' She told him kindly but in a tone that made it clear she would not accept any discission.
'Hermione is right. What happened after the dark lord fell is horrible but it's not your fault. The only people we can blame are the wizards and witches who decided it was a good idea to take justice into their own hands.' Daphne agreed.
'Still I don't like being the reason you and your brother are fighting.' Harry said softly.
'Harry you are my brother too. Perhaps not by blood but in any other way you are. Theo will have to accept that he can't put all his anger on you. And eventually he will.' Hermione reassured Harry.
Not much later the train rolled into the station. They all got up said their goodbyes to each other. Hugs were exchanged and then they all got off the train.
Hermione had quickly seen Theo and Draco with Draco's parents. Well she assumed they were his parents. They both had the platinum blonde hair that Draco also had. Even though Narcissa had her blonde mixed with a dark brown. Hermione pretended to not see them and instead made her way over to the exit. For a second she was tempted to walk trough the magic barrier that separated the wizarding world from the muggles but she decided against it. She might be mad at Theo but she didn't want to cause him any more distress than was necessary. She would get back at him in another way.
