"I need to talk to them." He said.

"My parents?" I asked.

"Well not both of em' just your mother." He said.

"I'm tellin' you they not gone what me talking to you afterwards." She mumbled.

"I'm not the same person as my father. I'm just as lost as anybody else. I just told you we don't got shit to do with what happened between our parents so they shouldn't even do that knowing that don't got nothing to do with me." I said.

"Let's go then." I said showing him my address. This would be the best time for them to talk while my brother and father wasn't at home.

"Ight." He said backing out the parking lot.

When we got to my house I unlocked the door and my momma was sitting right on the couch.

"Oh, hey." She dragged.

"Momma this Xavier." I said and he introduced his self.

"So what brings you by?" She asked as we sat down.

"You knew my father?" He said.

"Who's your father?" She asked.

"Langston." He said and she put her ice cream down instantly and her facial expression changed.

"Langston had a child?" She said to herself. "Who's your mother?" She asked.

"Shauni." He said and she shook her head. "I just want to know what happened and you seem to be the person that was closest to him." He said.

"Naylani go upstairs." My mother said.

"Mmcht." I said before I went upstairs to my room. I always miss out on the hood stuff.
