Long blond hair, deep brown eyes, dimples when she smiled. Her laugh like the sound of bells, music to my ears. Her voice. Her favorite blue dress that got carried in the wind as, her melodic laugh as I catch. The taste of her lips as I her kiss her ever so softly on her rosy lips. A crown of daisies she made from the meadow we frequently visited. Those were her favorite flowers, so those were the ones I brought her every chance I got. That is my happy place. Right there in the meadow with her laying right besides me in field of daisies. Cause in my mind there's only her.... She is my happy place.

My eyes fluttered open, ever so slightly before they close again. "James!" A voice says and I slight open my eyes again. "James, hey, James..... Stay with me" The voice keeps repeating. My eyes close once more and the darkness welcomes me once more.

I'm not really sure about what happened next. This could've been the end. But it wasn't. I survived the bombing. Awoke in a medical tent almost a week later. I got honorably discharged and got sent home. With third degree burns on my back, with shrapnel of the bomb still stuck in the wounds, concussion and a limp in my right leg. Although it had been a close call.... I was alive.
