We had all gathered to test our balance with these weird contraptions that had acted as the ODMG. Also known as the training gear. General Shadis seemed to be waiting for everyone to show up, he had an annoyed look on his face. Thea is standing next to me staying quiet for once. Then next thing I know General Shadis's voice is booming out.
"It's altitude test time so listen up! There is no place for you here if you can not perform, if you fail you will get shipped out to the fields." After he said that everyone was trying out the machines.
"Hey Baer, do you want to try these machines together?" Thea asked.
"Sure why not!" I am honestly extremely excited to try them out. I then ran ahead grabbing Thea's hand, pulling her along with me whilst I was smiling with her.
We are first in line or should I say I am first in line. I had to pull Thea somewhat along the way. It seems like she's improving in her running a little. That's good to know. When I got attached to the machine I was reeled up right away. I bounced it out on the machines seeing what my limits are. Oh, how I just want to do backflips already.
"How are you doing up there?" Thea asked.
"Awesome! I just want to do backflips." I answered.
"Sounds nice. Do me next! Do me next!" Thea said jumping up and down. With that they started reeling me down. Thea then got attached to the machine getting reeled upwords. She was jumping with joy up there, smiling with so much happiness.
"Having a great time up there, I see."
"Yeah no kidding, don't you have eyes? You have so much to learn." Thea spoke with sass and slight disappointment.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Just trying to be nice." I said sticking my tongue out at her.
"How dare you stick your tongue out at me!" Thea said with slight hurt.
"COME ON! HURRY IT UP, UP THERE." Daz yelled.
"OH SHUT IT YOU'LL GET YOUR TURN!" Thea yelled back.
"Thea just get down you had your fun." I said
"I'll get down when I want to!... Ok, you can bring me down now." Thea said this with lots of sass. Sometimes I wondered why I didn't get a normal friend, but then I remember I am not normal either.
"Hey, Daz, He was talking big about butchering all the titans, but he got real quiet after Omni-Directional Mobility training, didn't he?" One boy with dark hair had muttered to a lighter haired boy who looked like he was probably 70, but we all know he's 16 like everyone else here, that's probably what Thea is thinking, too, in all honesty.
"Yeah, I guess it's the fields for him tomorrow." Daz spoke back, both of us looking at the brown haired boy who was named 'Eren Jeager'. The hot head who would probably clash with Jean's attitude. "Can't keep wasting food on the useless." He shrugged.
"Haha, noob." Thea laughed out, beginning to wheeze, causing a couple glances our way. I then hit Thea, motioning her to say sorry.
"Okay okay, sorry, sorry." She waved her hand as if it were nothing until she whispered one last word. "Not." Then she continued to laugh hysterically.
"Thea, I guess you're missing your pink bear tonight."
"SHHHHHH WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT!" She yelled, waving her arms around as her face went a bright red.
"Pink bear?" Jean began to laugh at her, his brows raised in a questioning manner.
"SHUT IT, HORSE." She snapped back, now full on red.
"HAHAHAHAH!" Jean almost fell back off his chair.
"Baer." She whined with a sad tone.
"What you didn't listen, not my fault." I shrugged.
Jean had looked down at his food and began to eat as he calmed himself down from his laughter. I was surprised that Thea hadn't said anything else back at me, exposed that I was really a girl.
"If only I could think of a good comeback." Thea whined as she laid her head on the table and stared at Jean without him realizing.
Soon, dinner had ended and the bell rang for us to put our dishes away and get to our cabins.
I was the first into the cabins, so I decided I would mess around. Somehow I managed to climb onto the support beams that were above the bunks, up near the ceiling.
While I was up there, I seemed to notice the same Eren Jaeger kid with Baldy (also known as Connie) and Jean trying to ask them for help. Though, I didn't step in.
Seems Eren is having trouble with his ODMG? Perhaps he's asking for help.
Jean and Connie had told him off and he went on to pester Bertholdt and Reiner about it.
"Wait weren't you from Shigan-" Berholdt had tried to ask before I slid off the beam and hung from my legs, looking at Eren with curious eyes.
"So, you needed help with your ODMG training, right?" I asked, hanging upside down and staring at him while they all jumped.
"How did you get up there?!" Reiner yelled, seeming to pale a bit from the shock as Bertholdt began to sweat profusely.
Eren, though, I wouldn't have guessed much better of a reaction. The look on his face was priceless! Goldilocks (Armin) screamed. Like. A. Girl.
"Y-yeah-" Eren had sweat a bit as well as he looked around at the other boys staring at us.
"I'll help you. I'm pretty good at balance. I think I could teach you a few things." I gave him a thumbs up, but realized I was upside down, so I flipped them, a cheesy smile covering my face.
Reiner and Bertholdt both seemed to agree.
"If he'll help you, then it wouldn't be right for us to stand by and not." Reiner nodded to Bertholdt.
"Alright, mind if I invite my sister along with us?"
And just like that we had set off into the darkness and down the path towards the training grounds.
"Soooo- Jeager-bomb. Wassup?" Thea asked with a sly grin. Of course she picked on the easiest targets. She's gonna get herself killed one of these days. S i g h.
"Jeager-bomb??" Eren asked, his brows furrowing slightly.
"Oh, you know, just a nickname. :)" She smiled innocently.
After a slight small conversation about everyone's backstories and all that non-relevant stuff, we had reached the training grounds. Of course it would be a good idea to train in the pitch black darkness. What could go wrong? :)
"Alright, all you have to do is shift your weight. Try not to focus on keeping your weight in your legs or chest. Try to shift it into your hips." I instructed as soon as he had gotten strapped in.
"Mhm." He nodded and Reiner pulled the lever to raise him off the ground.
At first he fell face forward into the dirt, causing Thea to start laughing. But, it didn't last long as she had made her way over to him and made sure that he was okay, helping him up and stepping back again. With Armin's help of course.
"Try again." Armin had gave his best friends some encouragement.
Once again, Eren was raised up, each time we tried to help him until he decided to give up. It was around maybe.... 12? It was dark, and judging by how high the moon was... It was midnight.
"We should get back. I'm cold and tired." Thea whined as Eren gave a small sigh and nodded, unstrapping his belt and getting away from the training gear.
"You'll get it tomorrow, Eren, don't give up." Armin had soothed.
"I know." He mumbled, and we all started making our way back.
What an experience.
I just hope that he will pass the test tomorrow. We all know that this is what he had been dreaming about doing for a long time now. And to think his dreams would wash away just like that...
All we can do is just hope.
