The next day, we all gathered in the training grounds. I was growing anxious. The people who had passed all stood back and observed. We could have done something much more productive in this time that we have, but I wanted to see if Eren would really pass the test like he said he would yesterday.
I wasn't giving up hope on him. Especially if we had formed a friendship just the night before.
I don't want to lose another friend.
"Thea. Calm down." Baer had put a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm worried." I mumbled in a bit of distress.
You see, the thing about me is, I like to be overly energetic and tease people. You wouldn't have guessed that I would take things so harshly, but when I'm worried, angry, or sad, I take it to a whole nother level.
"You'll be fine." Baer assured me.
"He better be."
The things that had happened, the way it played with my emotions when he fell forward.
He plead for another chance, which was almost adorable, but like, noooooooo-"-Trade your belt with Jeager's." Shadis instructed someone, and so he did.
He allowed Eren another chance, and soon he was balancing in mid-air as if he were some pro, causing people to mutter.
"He stayed up even with a broken buckle!" Some would say.
Eren had given everyone around him a large grin, looking straight at Me, Baer, Mikasa, and Armin with a proud grin, his fists held up in front of him proudly.
Baer hid behind me, which was almost funny, since she's so much taller than me and I'm over here.... Short as can be.
"Thea, I don't want to be noticed," Baer whispered in my ear. Man I never knew she could be like that.
"Pffft- Okay, okay." I giggled slightly, giving Armin a smile and turning to give the same to Mikasa.
It was such an understatement to say I was happy.
And just like that, our training days had truly begun. Years filled with training had begun, having us begin to fly by. Only one day had been truly filled with fun.
Let me take you through the story.
This all takes place on the training day where everyone was working on their own hand to hand combat skills.
Sasha and Connie were to the side, not taking this seriously, but messing around, which was the best part of this, though my partner, Baer, seemed to be missing.
After a while, things started to go down as I saw from the corner of my eye, Reiner falling back on top of Eren. Annie had sent him flying.
This only made me want to mess with her even more.
And so I did.
I made my way over to Annie and started taunting her. It's hard to say what really happened, but I ended up fighting her.
She threw a kick my way, but I only grabbed her leg and used one of my legs to sweep the other one, causing her to fall to the ground.
These years of training really paid off, thanks Baer.
People began to crowd around seeing what was happening.
"Any last words?" I asked jokingly as I pinned her down, only for her to wrap her legs around my waist and twist so that she was on top now, then got up like she was done with the fight.
I grabbed her ankle and pulled, causing her to fall back.
"HAH!" I laughed enthusiastically as I got up. I'm so glad I started this. All with just one snarky comment.
The fight had continued until I had pinned her to the ground again. Both of us were out of breath and she didn't seem happy with losing.
I had her face down on the ground, arm in hand, holding it behind her back.
"Let me go." She grumbled, not able to move much since I had her legs pinned too. She couldn't move. The moves she was taught proved helpless in this moment.
"Only if you admit defeat." I grinned at her which caused her to scowl.
"Fine, I lose. Now let me go." She glared which made me smile and laugh.
"I win~!" I grinned as I got up, turning around as she got up as well, only to meet gazes with Jean, who seemed fully invested in the fight. I immediately went a bright red and fell face forward, tripping over nothing.
Great, perfect timing. I just had to get embarrassed. And now I'm humiliated. I just stayed silent, face planted on the floor, refusing to get up and look him in the face again. I don't care if there's dirt in my mouth, it tastes better than embarrassment.
"Thea, I got you something to drink. Also come here." Baer then grabbed me, lifting me up to bring somewhere else to try and save some embarrassment from my life.
"What happened, why were you on the ground? Did someone hurt you?" Baer asked in a serious voice.
"I'm fine. I just got into a fight with Annie. I won of course.... But.... Then I kinda uh.... Face planted.... In front of Jean....." I smiled awkwardly, then frowned, my face going red once again.
"That sounds like you, but here, drink something." Baer handed me some water.
"Yes, sir." I took the water and began to chug the whole thing down.
Fun fact: I can chug a water bottle pretty damn fast. :)
In the end, Baer was off eating food without me. She had taken my rations for herself, which had made me angry and I had an outburst at her, but nothing over the top. Just me being hangry.
And that, my friends, is one of the best stories from our training. Too bad it will all be over in a few days.
Tomorrow is the day we learn which place we got with our grades and have a grand meal. This is the day we will find out if we are qualified to join the Military police. Not that it matters, we're joining the survey corps, no matter which place we get.
Though, it would be nice if we could flex our strength on people. I'm definitely scoring higher than Annie. No doubt about it.
I can't wait.
