"Alright, listen up, I will now list the top fifteen ranking people of your generation. If you do not get into the top fifteen... Then you can't become a Military Police like almost all of you guys were planning on being. And you're never getting a second chance, so have fun being titan bait." Shadis began to explain, causing me to roll my eyes. Typical Shadis.

"Alright, now, to begin, we have.... Mikasa Ackerman in the top spot. Please, step forward." And as she was told, the dark haired girl stepped forward.

"Second place... We have Reiner Braun." Reiner stepped up next my Mikasa, both of them standing behind Shadis and facing everyone else who was in the crowd.

"Third place... Bertholdt Hoover."

"Fourth place, we have Baer Ahmann, no surprise." Shadis had mumbled the last part just audible for the us to pick up. And so, I stepped up to the people with a large grin on my face, standing next to Bertholdt Hoover, the one person who has to look down to see me. Hopefully Thea gets top-

"Fifth, Thea." Shadis said no more, since Thea was obviously one of his least favorite people in the 104th training corps. She was endlessly getting in trouble.

"Sixth place is Annie." The blonde stepped up, and it continued like this:

"Seventh place goes to [ErheeennNN jJeAAaAAggErrRR]."

"Eighth place goes to Jean Kirstein." And he was definitely angry about getting a lower score than Eren.

"Ninth is Marco Bodt."

"Tenth is Connie Springer."

"Eleventh is Sasha Braus."

"Twelfth place goes to Krista Lenz."

"Fourteenth goes to Felix Schmidt."

"And last place, Paul Becker."

After the ranking, we all gathered around in a small afterparty, mostly to say goodbye to each other, congratulate ourselves for getting the top spots, but also at the same time, to celebrate our graduations.

Thea was off messing around with Jean, making him angry like always. It seemed to become her new hobby. And I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty damn funny to watch.

Me, on the other hand, I was sitting with Ymir and Krista. I wasn't bothering them, since I know they really hit it off together. I just happen to be one of those people who tag along with them most of the time. And they seem to like me, they haven't complained about my presence much recently.

Maybe Ymir is finally getting used to me ruining her alone time with Krista. And she seems to like how much I know about them just by analyzing their postures and movements.

Soon, it was time to eat and we all gathered in the mess hall for a last feast. They decided to treat us to some good fresh food instead of those nasty rations.

I walked into the mess hall alongside Thea. She was leaning forward towards Jean who was walking in front of us, pulling his hair lightly to prove the point of how long his hair was getting.

"Stop." Jean turned to glare at her, his eyes narrowing, though I could tell, they formed a bond that nobody could ever break.

And I could also see how much Thea seemed to adore him. Thea needs to just confess already, Lord Maria.

"AHHH BAER, ThEEAAAA!" Sasha yelled from the back table, waving her arms around, trying to get our attention. She was definitely overdoing it.

"COMING!!!" Thea ran forward, me following after while Jean just let out random grumbles about how much energy we had. Connie was yet to arrive. He's always late.

Soon we were all situated at our own table. Me and Sasha were hogging most of the food, because who doesn't want all the food?

I had seen Thea stealing some from Sasha's plate and I knew she was going to get it if she ever got caught. So, to get back at her, I started taking from her plate while she wasn't looking. How does it feel now, Thea?

As I turned around, I saw Sasha taking food from my plate, and I began to immediately scold her. I was so MAD! It's my [and only] MY FOOD. Soon Sasha started whining, just wanting some food. She seemed to have noticed that Thea was stealing food from her plate and I slapped her hand to make her stop.

I then heard Connie and Jean laughing on the side-lines. Thea turned and gave Jean a light shove as if saying 'Don't laugh at me, horse!' Causing me to laugh.

Daz looked over at me, a confused look taking over his gleeful expression. "You sound like a girl when you laugh." Daz mumbled.

"Watch him actually be a girl." Jean laughed out, obviously joking, but it seemed to make Thea laugh even more.

"HAHA! ACTUALLY-" Thea began, making me cover her mouth. I gave her a dead look from the side of my face then looked at everyone with a smile like nothing was happening. Once I removed my hand, she fixed herself and continued her sentence. "Actually, I'm still hungry, so thanks for the Hay." She took some food from Jeans plate.

He had gotten so used to her insults, that he knew that she didn't mean it in a mean way. They just had that relationship. Nothing more, nothing less. Sadly. Thea looks like she wishes for more. I could tell by just looking at her.

"Are you insane?!" Thomas screams from another part of the hall, making everyone go silent, all attention on him, Eren, and the rest now.

"How many people have died?" Thomas spoke up, quieter now. He seemed to have realized that everyone's eyes were on them now, but he didn't want people knowing he cared. "We're talking a fifth of the population. If that doesn't paint a picture for you, I don't know what will. This is our life now, we can't beat them."

This is the part where the sad music would chime in, but you know, this isn't the show, so...

"Yeah, so what?" Eren said, breaking the silence and gaining the blond's attention, who looked up from the ground. "We buckle, we take it all while lying down? Things have changed. Maybe not a hell of a lot, but enough. They aren't the mystery they were five years ago. There's still a long way to go, but we made progress. Every battle we lost taught us a lesson-" Eren began his whole monologue.

We stopped paying attention, though, because who really wants to listen to a three year old's stupid speech?

With that Thea and I started talking to each other bored of whatever Eren was saying.

And soon he ran from the building, ruining everyone's nights. Well, not ours, we just went back to messing around, not seeming to care. Mikasa and Armin can handle this.

"Jean, you look extra agitated. Don't let the little baby get to you." Thea poked Jean's cheek, causing his head to move away from her.

"Thea don't be rude!" I yelled, crossing my arms.

"I'm not being rude, just simply.. Making him feel better." She smiled sweetly.

"Yeah, like shoving your finger in my face will help anything." Jean grumbled.

"Hey, I didn't ask you, hott- Horsie." She stuck out her tongue, going a light red from her accidental slip up. That only made it more clear to me that she had found him attractive.

With that Thea and I argued the rest of the night. Of course that fight didn't last long, we always made up for it.

And so, our peaceful times had come to an end.
