chapter 3, part one

when nya noticed kai was acting a bit distant when she came home from school, but she didn't say anything about it.

after all, she knew that sometimes you just have a bad day.

but now a week later nya was starting to think something else was going on,

Kai had almost stopped talking to her completely, he had constant bags under his eyes, and she had caught him on more then one occasion just staring at his hands for some reason,
....almost as if he were scared of them

and tho kai tried to pretend everything was ok, nya was definitely concerned to say the least....

last year, kai had overexerted himself from working in the forge too long, and nya came back from school with him passed out in the forge, he had promised her he would never do it again.

and she belived him.

so when she saw him sneaking out of the house, one night when she was getting a drink of water oh boy was she mad,

she followed right outside, and just as he was about to reach the forge she yelled

"KAI SMITH!"

Kai jumped, and spun around, as soon as he saw nya his facial expression turned to one of guilt and fear.

"you promised" she said, absolutely livid "you promised me you wouldn't overwork yourself, and you lied!"

"nya no, look" kai put his his hands up to his chest in the universal sign of surrender "I know this looks bad but I wasn't using the forge"

nya scoffed " oh really? cuz that's exactly what it looks like" she said while turning away, arms crossed, trying not to let any of the hurt leave her tone

"nya i promise I wasn't, really!"

"then what were you doing?" she exclaimed

"...i.....look nya its nothing really that important,we should just go back inside...." he said looking down at the ground rather guiltily,

nya snapped "NOT THAT IMPORTANT? it is if your not getting a enough sleep kai, and you've obviously got bags under your eyes!!!"

"nya really, im fine" Kai said his voice getting a bit defensive

"obviously not kai, you should know better after last year"

"nya-"

"no, what if you overexert yourself again you coul-"

"I SAID IM FINE!!!" kai yelled, as he exploded.

literally.

a blast of fire shot out of kai in all directions the fire hit one of the gas cans (a/n ya know those big white jug like ones? I think it might actually be propane idk I just know my grandpa uses it to power his house cuz he lives in the middle of nowhere) that was off to the side inbetween them making it explode

nya screamed, in fear as fire flew up

Kai froze trying too process what had just happened.

'dear fsm had he just? did he? he didn't?'

his thoughts were racing 'no...NO!'

the thought of his sister being inside that fire, most likely mutilated and dead shook him to his very core,

he had killed his sister, his little baby sister

his breathing quickened and he started to hyperventilate

no he couldn't, there was no way he could bare to see her body.

just no.

so he ran

Kai didn't know where he was running, he didn't care just as long as it was far far away from what he'd done...

the trees grew thicker and kai knew he was no longer near the village, but the forest, kai didnt care, he ran faster

he wasnt thinking about anything other then run

his breath was hitching but weather it was from, running so much or hyperventilatiom kai didnt know all he knew was that

He. Couldnt. Breath!

kai started to slow to a stop, leaning againt a tree trunk in exuastion before crumpling against it entirely,

he shook, lungs aching as he gasped for air, but it just wasnt coming, small, shaky, sobs came out instead.

*BOOM!* something to his left exploded and kai felt something incase him,

kai lifted his head to see that he was now in some kind of tarp thing, he tried to struggle free but, hearing heavy footsteps behind him, kai froze

"well, well, well, what do we have here?" a muffled voice said.

the tarp he was in was picked up and placed in some kind of hard box that he was pretty sure muffled the sound around him even more.

Kai tried to scream for help but cut himself off when he realized how hoarse it was already from sobbing, he stopped struggling and slumped back down.

What was the point? none would be able to heaar him anyways.

he probably deserved this.

after all he was nothing but a murderer right?

for a few minutes he thought he heard what sounded like arguing or a fight but he couldn't make it out clearly

then whatever he was on gave a jerk and they were moving.......
