chap 5

when nya awoke there was a searing pain in her cheek confusion laced her half awake thoughts before she remembered all that had taken place last night and suddenly, any tiredness she had felt before was gone.

quickly she went to the bathroom, after briefly showering and checking her stitches for any sign of infection -which was none thankfully-

she quietly headed downstairs to the living room were she had let the old man -Wu- stay for the night

she wandered if it was too early for him to be awake seeing as it was around 6am but wen she peeked around the corner to her  amazement not only was he awake but also pouring himself a cup of tea?

'ok first of all, where did that even come from?, we dont own a teapot like that, and more importantly...should i really trust this guy?'

i mean sure he had saved her but...she still didnt know anything about him. 

how did he know her? who even was he? how did he do that glowy tornado thing?

"so how long exactly are you going to stare at me?" wu suddenly asked causing nya to freeze.

'oh dear fsm had he known she was there the whole time?' probably  "uh sorry sir" she said causing him to chuckle.

"just call me sensie wu, and it is quite alright nya" he said as he gestured to the seat to the side of the couch "now im sure you have some question, yes?"

nya nodded as she sank down into the gestured chair.

"how...-how did you know who i am?" she asked.

wu's eyes softened a little, he put his haand into his robe and pulled out an old picture frame and handed it to her "i was once good friends with your parents, however a bit after they had you we stopped talking with each other...i" he bowed his head slightly
"i would like to apolagize, had i known about what happened to your parents, you would not have had to have grown up alone"

as she looked at the picture, nya didnt know how to feel, these were definitely a younger version of her parents, as well as a younger version of the man that stood before her, they looked exactly like the picture of them on her nightstand that kai had given to her.

"what were those creatures from last night? and what did they want with kai?"

wu sighed "that was samukai, ruler of the underworld, and his minions, as for what they want with your brothers, i do not know for sure, but if it is for the reason i fear, then i have reason to believe that all of ninjago is in jeapordy" he turned to nya with a serius gaze "tell me exactly what happened last night"

and although a bit hesitantly, she did, including what had happened with kai seeing as he had given her no reason to not trust him yet.

as her story came to a close wu stroked his beard. "i see, and are you absolutly sure you heard the skeleton say "lord garmadon?" he asked.

nya nodded.

Wu nodded, his expression turning grave "then it is as i feared, my brother has returned" he stood up, quickly gathered his belongings and headed towards the door "come nya" he commanded "We must hurry"

nya quickly stood and followed him "wait!" she said frustratedly "what are you talking about? and what does this have to do with your brother?" she asked

wu slowed his pace slightly to allow her to catch up  "my brother is lord garmadon" he explained quietly

"long before time had a name the first spinjistu master built ninjago with the golden weapons of spinjistu, the sycthe of quakes, the shuricans of ice, the nunchucks of lightning, and the sword of fire"

"centuries passed and the firstspinjistu master had two sons, my older brother garmadon, and me, wu, my brother posessed the elemental power of destruction and darkness while i wielded the elemental power of light and creation"

"more time flew bye and our father passed leaveing us to gaurd the weapons, but my brother overcome by greed and lust for power tried to steal the golden weapons, but i caught him in the act a battle ensued like no other that had taken place between us, not on of sparing but of life and death. in the end i had no choice but to banish him to the underworld. but garmadon is very persistant and i knew that my brother would soon find a way to try to take the weapons once again, so i hid them in seperate locations and placed a guardian to watch over each one"

nya took a minute to take everything that was said in before bursting out in anger "but what does that have to do with us? i mean i get that you and our parents were friends but there was no reason to drag us into it, to drag kai into it!"

"that" wu sighed "is not entirely true" he said " me and garmadon were not the only people to posses elemental powers as im sure you learned last night"

nya's eyes widened "wait you mean?"

"yes, you see your father was the elemental maste rof fire, and your mother controlled water and if your account of last night holds true it woulsd seem your brother inherited your fathers abilitys"

nya was flabbergasted.

"now" he said "that doesnt necessarily mean you inherited your mothers powers, altough it is more then likely so dont get your hopes up too high, but dont be surprised if you unlock your powers sometime in the future understood?"

nya nodded.

"good" suddenly wu held out a hand for nya to stop, they had arrived at a tall mountain nya squinted to try and see the top as the sun started to set behind them

"now" wu said "if we are going to save your brother and the rest of ninjago, you are first going to have to learn spinjistu. your first task: climb to the op of this mountain, your training starts now"

and before nya could protest that that was way to much for her, wu had already began scaling the mountain, nya sighed and execepted her fate. if this was what it would take to save her brother, then so be it.
