chapter 3 pt 2

Nya was frozen in shock as the explosion dissipated around her

she was fine, she had a large cut across her cheek from a piece of the propane jug but she was fine, that didn't matter right now

what just happened?

had fire just shot out of Kai?

FIRE?

wait where was Kai? was he ok? 

she quickly looked around not finding him anywhere

"Kai" she called, looking around.

tears formed in her eyes as she had begun to think that Kai himself had exploded as well

but something caught her eyes, footprints, her brothers footprints, leading out into the forest, nya bit the inside of her cheek.

that wasn't good the forest was a dangerous at night, there were wolves and eve a few bears out there

and her brother was out there.

moving quickly she went back inside, fixed up her cheek (turns out in the light it actually was pretty bad and needed stitches and would probably scar) and gathered the necessary tools to go look for her brother,

-some clothes, a lamp, a sword and a first aid kit-

all the while questions ran wild inside her head

how did Kai do that?

had he always been able to do that? 

no he can't have kept  it a secret from her all her life could he have?

They were siblings, they -they told each other everything.

 didn't they?

she quickly changed out of her pajamas and got her shoes on

how was she gonna find him? jamanakai's forest was huge.

she shook her head everything was gonna be ok,

she would find Kai, and they would have a talk and everything would be just fine

Nya hesitantly walked into the forest, as a kid you were most definitely taught one thing in jamonakai 

-never go in the forest you'll get lost- 

however her hesitance was quickly filled with resolve as she remembered that her brother was in that forest

'right' she thought 'any questions can be answered later' 

Nya entered the forest 'right now, the only thing that's important is my brother'

and with that she started her search.

"Kai!?"

"KAI?"

Nya stopped dead when she heard something akin to an explosion and a scream from somewhere to the distant side of her

only she knew that scream.

'Kai!'

she ran in what was hopefully the right direction of the scream and prayed that she was not a even  little off as that could lead her to miss kai

'oh please first spinjitzu master, let him be safe please!' Nya prayed

only to stop dead at the scene she had arrived at

'what are these things?' 

they looked like skeletons but not the costume skeletons the village kids would dress up as for halloween, no she could actually see through these ones!

the creatures had all stopped to look at her when she had arrived

But then Nya saw the big one, who for some reason had a wriggling bag? nya quickly put two and two together and knew that kai was most likely in the bag, 

i mean you could clearly see limbs trying to struggle out of the bag and the thing inside was way too small to be a skeleton judging by the size of the ones here

but and apparently her assessment had given the skeleton enough time to recover

"Well" he snapped turning to his underlings as he stuffed the bag thing into his trunk rather roughly "what are you doing just standing there? get her!" 

"um but sir, Garmadon only wanted the boy" one stated

Nya froze,  they had just confirmed that they had Kai

"doesnt mean u cant take her valuables does it?"

at that the skeletons grinned and quickly started to surround her, she raised her sword only to have it smacked right out of her hands.

"ninjagoooo" 

just as she was about to just hand them her valuables out of fear a...tiny golden tornado? came out of nowhere and shoved the skeletons surrounding her away

it then picked her up and whisked her away to safety

the tornado stopped spinning to reveal an old man with a bamboo cone hat and a long white beard

"are you alright miss?" he asked checking her over for injuries

as he did this the skeletons had decided that they were not getting paid enough to deal with a spinjitzu master and quickly ran to their vehicles and portaling away

"NOO!" Nya shouted trying to get to them but it was too late, the portal had already closed.

"MY BROTHER, THEY HAVE HIM!!!" 

the man's face turned to one of shock "I'm so sorry if I had known I would have saved him, I just thought they were trying to rob you"

Nya slumped down defeated "No i-its alright" she said, putting her face in between her knees, clearly it was not alright.

"He's just my brother, haha" tears ran down her face as she started sobbing.

"hush child, i never said i wouldn't help you get him back now did i? what is your name?" he asked

she looked up, a small glimmer of hope in her eyes "wait you will? oh uh i mean nya, my names nya!"

the man looked as if he had been caught off guard "Well shit" he whispered in a volume Nya assumed she hadnt meant to be able to hear.

"...as in Nya smith?" he asked

now it was Nya's turn to be surprised, -oh bht hadn't she had enough surprises today?

"Um yes?...how...how do you know my name?"

The long bearded man sighed. "never mind that, i shall tell you in the morning, for now all you need to know is that my name is Wu"

Wu then drew himself up and offered her his stick to help lift her. "Now come" he said as he pulled her up.

 "We have a long journey ahead of us, and we cannot rescue your brother without adequate sleep" He started walking in the direction of the blacksmith shop "We will start tomorrow"

Nya wanted to protest but stopped herself, she was lucky that this man, Wu, was helping her at all, it wasn't often an adult agreed to help them...

And so they started in the direction of the blacksmith shop...
