Jack's P.O.V.

~time lapse~

I was getting ready to go on the date I planned for Alex and I. My hands were shaking and it was no doubt that I was nervous.

I hope Alex doesn't catch on of why I'm nervous. I want it to be a suprise.

I wasn't wearing anything too special, just a nice button up shirt and some skinny jeans that looked like actual jeans.

Alex poked my shoulder. I smiled.

"Why'd you do that?" I asked.

"Because you look deep in thought and you also look nervous so I poked you to stop you from thinking about whatever you're thinking about." Alex explained.

"Thanks."

I kept driving.

We arrived at the resturant finally. It wasn't too high class but it also wasn't cheap.

I got out first and because of the gentlemen I was, I opened the door for Alex.

We went into the resturant together. We got some dirty looks from people but chose to ignore them.

We were seated at a table that had a really nice view of the lake nearby.

I looked at the menu as if it were a different language. What was all this stuff?

I just ordered something that sounded like meat. Alex seemed confused too but he found something.

We sat in silence until the food came.

"So, how do you like this place?" I asked.

"Wonderful. Other than the menu." I heard the hint of humour in his voice so I laughed a little.

My hands were still shaking and I kept playing with the box in my pocket. But something didn't feel right.

The suprise. Not here.

After we finished our food, I payed the bill and we left.

I drove around, not knowing where to do it. Then it hit me.

I drove into a parking lot nearby the park. We got out of the car and we went to the park.

I sat on the swings and Alex did too.

"What was this date all about? I know we go on them and stuff, but something's bugging you." Alex asked.

"Fine, I'll tell you. What's been bugging me is this." I got off the swing and stood in front of Alex.

I pulled out the box from my pocket and held it.

"I know I'm kinda dumb, and I get drunk a lot, and I know that I'm sad all the time. But you're the only one who's been able to put up with my shit for this long, sooo, Marry me?" I asked.

I took the box and held it out to Alex. I opened it so he could see the ring inside.

Tears welled up in his eyes but he was smiling. I felt more nervous then ever at this point.

He nodded franticaly and engulfed me in a hug. He kissed me too.

I took the ring out of the box and slid it on his finger. I made the ring special for him. It said, "the taste of your lips is enough to keep me pressing" from one of the songs he wrote. It was silver.

"See, this is what I was doing. I was getting this special ring for you. I could never cheat on you. I love you." I told him.

We walked hand-in-hand to the car.

"I know. I'm sorry. I love you too." He kissed my cheek.

We got home and kicked the babysitter out. We played with Desi all night and put her to bed together.

It all just felt so right. Like this was our family. Our crazy, abnormal, family.

I fell asleep with my arms around Alex's waist. I could never be happier.
