"So, I heard napagalitan ka na naman ni Madis?" She chuckled softly.
"Yeah, Tia." Sagot ko sabay kamot sa ulo.
Nakaupo kaming dalawa sa kama ko.
"Tia nga pala. May fiesta raw sa bayan bukas ng gabi? Lantern festival ba?"
"No Dol. We can't go." Hinawakan niya ang dalawang balikat ko para pahigain na ako pero hindi ako humiga.
"Sige na Tiiiii, gusto ko magpalipad ng lantern!" Pagpupumilit ko.
"Wala akong oras para samahan ka Dol kaya sa susunod na lang."
"Pwede naman akong samahan ni Mina, Tia. At yung mga guards? Kaya ko naman na."
"I said no, Dol." tumayo na siya.
"Sige na Tia, please?" Ngumiti pa ako ng todo.
"Dol, hindi nga pwede. Makinig ka na lang please? A lot is happening right now, don't add up."
I don't know what to say afterwards. Alam ko marami ang inaasikaso ni Tia. And I have ask her so many times about what is it about, because I want to share whatever burden or problems she's carrying. But every time I try to she just blocks me out more.
They are training me to be Queen of Amaris because I will be months from now. But whatever matter that affects Amaris and me, they keep it to themselves. I want to understand. I don't want to be a burden but how can I not be when I don't even know what is happening around me?
"Okay." I said as I lay down in my bed and closed my eyes. Narinig ko na lang na sumara na ang pintuan.
Ang oa ko siguro para magtampo. I look like a spoiled brat. But I can't help it. I am a grown up women yet they still treat me like I am not.
They are all scared about people abducting me but teach me nothing about those people.
I hate being caged in a place I know nothing about. I just want to be a part of something that I know hugely affects me.
When midnight struck I went to the forest. But not where the lagoon were. I just want to be alone for now to calm my thoughts and I don't wanna risk going there only to see if he is there or not.
Nasa kabilang side ako ng forest. It's much more darker here. Nang makahanap ako ng spot na hindi gaano napapalibutan ng mga puno doon ako nagpahinga at humiga sa damuhan.
"I see a lost lamb."
Napabangon ako bigla sa kahihiga. "Sino nandyan?"
It wasn't E's voice. And the aura, feels different. Scary different.
"Did you know that you aren't supposed to be here?" It's a guy's voice but it's not E's.
"I said who are you?!" Nakatayo na ako at handa na sa kung sino man ang kausap ko ngayon.
"Buti na lang nakita ko na noon pa ang mukha mo, dahil mahusay na desisyon ang pagkulay mo ng iyong buhok, moon princess."
I got goosebumps. He knows who I am. He saw me already?
I used my wind magic to set him flying away from me but he dodged it.
"I knew something was up with him, can't believe I am right though."
A rope made of fire encircled around my body. Binding me. Hindi ako makagalaw. My arms both at my side. I can't cast any magic out.
"Now thanks to you princess, I can finally have a taste of a moon princess' magical powers.
*tree branch noise*
Napatingin ako sa itaas ng may biglang malaking sanga ang nahulog sa ulo ko. Because of that I lost consciousness.
I woke up in the same place. Wala na yung rope na naka bind sa akin, kaya gamit ang kapangyarihan ko mabilis na lumipad ako papunta sa lagoon.
Sana andon siya.
Nang hawakan ko ang noo ko, may sugat don. Siguro dahil sa sanga na nahulog sa akin.
Wait, I was black out pero iniwan niya lang ako doon?
Pagkarating ko sa lagoon, nakita ko ka agad si Egon.
"Hi?" He said. "Your wounded?" Naguguluhang tanong niya ng mapansin ang dugo sa noo ko.
"Yeah, is it obvious?"
Hindi ko to pwede sabihin kay Tia. Alam kong dapat dahil isa siguro sa mga tao na gusto kumuha sa moon princess ang lalaking 'yon pero kapag sinabi ko kay Tia ang nangyari mapapagalitan ako.
Argh, Dolunay, you dumbass.
"Yeah, it is. Come here."
He holds my wrist and pulled me closer to the lagoon.
"I can treat it if you want?" He asked softly.
He's not cocky or sarcastic tonight. He sounds softer.
"Sure."
Isang bubble ng tubig mula sa lagoon ang lumipad papunta sa noo ko, inabsorb naman ng sugat sa noo ko yung tubig.
"It'll heal sooner, don't worry."
"How can I hide this to Tia?" I whispered.
"Hindi mo sasabihin ano yung nangyari?"
"No, if I do they'll all get mad at me," I looked at him questioningly when I realized something. "Ano ang ibig mong sabihin sa Ano ang nangyari?"
Does he know?
"Na nahulog ka kung saan at nagkasugat?" Sarcastic na sagot niya. "Don't worry, it'll heal faster so it is less likely to get noticed.
Yep, he is E.
"What happened?" He asked after awhile. Nakaupo parin kaming dalawa sa tapat ng lagoon.
"Someone attacked me," I whispered. "I don't know what to do E."
"I've always wanted to explore new places, new things. I don't want people telling me what I should do and don't, where I should go and don't. I want to just live my life without having to ask anyone's permission," I started blurting out. "I love and respect Tia a lot. She's like my mom. But because she wants to protect me so bad, she rather have me stay ignorant and I don't want that."
"I want to be able to know what's going on. I want to be able to protect myself on my own. Mostly, I want to help Tia carry whatever she's carrying."
"I'll be Queen in a few more months, and yet I am still ignorant just like the first day that I came here."
Oh moon.
"Sorry, I think I overshared. Just...I don't know. Just forget about it."
Tumayo na ako at balak na sanang umalis ng tawagin niya ang pangalan ko.
"Dolunay," I think this is the first time he ever called me by my full name. "I don't know if you can go but I have two tickets for tomorrow's night lantern festival."
He handed me one ticket. I took it as I looked at his eyes.
Blue.
"Thanks." I said.
