Five

Daciana looked around, confusion written all over her face. "Where am I?" she mumbled, dazed. She blinked several times to allow her eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room. Realizing she was in the library room. "I must've fallen asleep..." She said to no one in particular. She yawned and rubbed her closed eyes with her hands. Slowly, she sat up, stood and then stretched out her limbs and exited the room.

"Excuse me, what were you doing in there?"

Daciana turned around slowly and saw Ox standing there. He was angry, face red and hot, as always, and he even trembled slightly. He couldn't quite see her face, so she turned on her heel and started sprinting. "You!" He yelled as she ran away laughing, but she only laughed to cover up her fear.

Daciana skulked around the building for the rest of the night, staying in the shadows and out of sight. No one really looked at her anyway; she was used to the invisibility. She looked out of one of the windows and saw the sun setting. She shook her head, wearing a sly smile, realizing she'd only slept for an hour. Her stomach rumbled as she made her way to the cafeteria, getting there early for dinner.

Dinner was a cooked meat of some sort and potatoes. Daciana ate the potatoes and some of the meat, although she tried to avoid it as it didn't look particularly healthy. She ate alone and in silence as she watched Berneen laugh with Os and Raynard at the table across from her. The thought that Raynard was anywhere near Berneen still made her feel sick, but she had to try and accept the fact that there wasn't much she could do about it.

"If you stare any longer you might have a brain aneurism, or be classed as a stalker." a girl laughed, and sat down next to Daciana.

"Yeah, well, tell me why I was staring?"

"The blonde is related to you and you hate the girl. But the white haired guy, I think he likes you." the girl smirked and nodded, pleased with herself.

That threw Daciana off.

"What? No!" she said defensively and accidentally fell off the chair as she tried to leave. With a grumble, she propped herself back on her chair and watched the girl suspiciously.

"Daciana, I'm Alicia. I was a friend of Os's."

"Was?"

"Oh, I, uh, moved away."

She studied Alicia. Her hair was down, and it curled and twisted anywhere and everywhere. The dark chocolate colour contrasted nicely with the lighter, oak colour of her eyes.

"You're her, the girl he screwed!" Her eyes lit up in excitement.

"Oh yeah, did he tell you about me?"

"No, just that you were amazing. When did you two... you know?"

"Oh, umm, six years ago. He was sixteen, I think. He said I was amazing?"

"Yeah. Hey, why did you sit down with me?"

"I thought you needed a friend, or at least someone to talk to. I know it can get lonely."

"Oh, so like a pity chat?"

"Originally, but not anymore."

"Oh, really?" Daciana was agitated. She didn't need pity; she was fine by herself, with no one to judge her, no one to hurt her.

"Yes, but I think that you're a nice person. You can be if you want to."

“Why would I?" she scoffed.

Alicia frowned and shook her head. "Because we all get lonely." That was true. "Anyways, so you're a wolf?"

"Yes, and you're a mammal of some sort."
