Narrator's Pov~

Lydia opens the door for Layla to come in. Beetlejuice is sitting on the vanity stool and Lydia on the bed. The mother pats on the bed next to her so Layla can sit down. She takes a seat and looks at Beetlejuice.

"So you must be the famous Beetlejuice-"Layla was cut off by the demon.

"Ah, ah, ah. Looks like your mother didn't tell you about saying my name 3 times again banishes me." Beej gives Lydia a look before bringing his attention to Layla's hand, looking at the ring. He realizes the ring from decades ago.

"Easy for me if you cause trouble." Lydia throws a pillow at Beetlejuice causing his hair to change yellow again.

"Woah! That fucking cool." Layla admires the demons color changing hair.

"Oh, but Lydia you can't get rid of me only your daughter can." Beetlejuice smiles.

"What? Since when?" Lydia gives him a confused look.

"Try it." He didn't seem like he was bluffing.

"Mmk, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice." Nothing happened everyone just sat in the teens room. Lydia shocked with confusion.

"Before you ask how, that ring... our old wedding ring. Who ever wears it is the only one who can send me back to the netherworld." He says pointing to the ring on Layla's finger.

"You both are gonna have to tell me stories about that wedding I keep hearing about"

"Oh I'd love to tell you that story!" Beetlejuice replies looking at Lydia who seems to be humming a song. Beetlejuice catches onto what song the mother is singing.

"I'll make you say my name." Beetlejuice sings catching Lydia's attention.

"I'll never say your name." The old friends laugh.

"Well actually you have said my name twice now." Beej says with a huge attitude.

"No silly demon technically six times, not that anyone's counting." Lydia returns the attention to him.

"Guess you didn't lose your stubbornness."

"Well I better go tell Barbara and Adam why I left in a hurry earlier." The mother looks at her daughter and starts to walk out the door until Beetlejuice stops her.

"Woah, woah let's not tell them I'm back. They wouldn't like it to much." Beetlejuice seems to be worried that they would kick him out for what he has done in the past.

"Oh, Bee no. I gotta tell them about Layla... you know and what happened. But you two don't stay up to late or cause trouble."

"Can't make any promises Lyds." Lydia groans and walks out of the room leaving her daughter and Beetlejuice alone.

"So where ya wanna start Babes?"

"Ew, don't you call my mom that?"

"And how would you know?"

"She always told me stories about a demon with color changing hair that was named Bee. I never knew she was talking about you until I met you. But I don't mind what you call me." Layla smiled. She liked nicknames her old friends always had nicknames for her like Bear, Pickle, Peanut. And her favorite Lovebug or bug, Emily would call her that.

"So she talked about me hmm? So what do you know?" Beetlejuice wanted to tell Layla everything tonight, the thought of him having another best friend made him so happy. But Layla was different.

"Well I know she summoned you to get ride of my annoying step grandmother, and how she would go on adventures and scare people with you."

"Debra? Ha yeah she was .Pretty. Annoying." Beetlejuice let out a chuckle and smiled.

"You mean Delia?"

"Uh yeah her."

"Well she never told me about a wedding, or this ring or the dress." Layla moved back and moved her head to signal Beetlejuice to sit in front of her. He jump onto her bed to sit right in front of her.

"You see, I wanted to be free and become human again. For that to happen I needed to marry a human. I made your mother read a spell from a book that exorcised Barbara, but she thought she was bringing her mom back... yeah yeah I know I lied-" Layla cut him off before he could finish.

"No, it's fine that you lied. If I were you I'd wanna get freed too."

"Really!?" Beetlejuice looks Layla in the eyes to see if she was lying to him but she seems to be telling the truth.

"Yeah, I get it your ambitious and will do anything to get what you want. I'm the same way." Beetlejuice smiled and his yellow hair started turning pink... he's never had his hair change that color. "Continue" the teen said engaged into the story.

"Oh right, so your mom wanted to save Barbara. So she had no choice to say no to marrying me. So she said yes and we got married... until Lydia killed me again just so she could send me back to the netherworld..." Beetlejuice's hair turned blue before it could finish turning pink. Beetlejuice loved scaring people and when they sent him back it kinda stung.

"Hey, hey Beetlejui- uh Beej don't dwell on the past. You're back and have my mom and I now!" Layla hugged the sad demon. Beetlejuice's hair was now a mix of blue and pink.

"Yeah, thanks." He smiles looking the clock.

"Oh yeah it's getting pretty late and I've got school tomorrow!"

"Uh yeah, we'll do you mind if I stay here? I don't really wanna stay on the roof." Beetlejuice cocked his head like a puppy and smiles. Layla shakes her head.

"Not at all! You can stay in my room as long as you want!"

"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! It's like a big sleepover!!!" Beetlejuice juices a mattress onto Layla's room floor.

"Woahhh! That's fucking cool!" The teen looks at the mattress that just appeared in her room.

"I know! The perks of being dead!"

"Well-" She gives him a look, reminding him that he just saved her from ending her life.

"That's not what I meant." Beetlejuice lays down on his mattress.

"Goodnight Beej." Layla pulls her covers over her and stares at the ceiling

"Goodnight Bug." Layla's eyes open wide. She hasn't heard that nickname in a while. Since her best friend died, but it brought her confort. In a matter of ten minutes the new best friends are fast asleep.
