Katara walked alone. She was at a small beach, she had found outside the forest she and her five friends had set up camp. Katara felt like she needed to be alone for a while. Her stupid friends had been fighting and it never seemed to stop so she escaped them. 'I will be back soon', she told herself. She sat down in the soft sand, starring out over the dark blue sea. The moon was up and mirrored itself beautifully in the water. Stars were popping out if nowhere all over the sky. Katara took a deep breath. She really enjoyed being alone even for just a minute in these times. All the traveling with her all stubborn friends weren't the nicest. But she did like the company of Zuko specially much. She couldn't explain it very good, but she felt like she had to protect him, take care of him and shield him from anything that could harm him. Because of the poor young man's past she could not be mean to him even the slightest.
And she thought he was awfully attractive.
Out of nowhere, Katara heard a muffled growl from somebody not too far away. The thing seemed to be really mad, and it was stomping and making frustrated sounds. Katara looked around, trying to see who or what was making the angry sounds. And not too suprisingly, it was Zuko. He was punching a nearby tree, and some of the bark loosend and fell to the ground. His knuckles started bleeding and he sat down on the ground, his head in his hands. He hadn't even noticed her.
Katara thought that she should probably go and try to calm him down, so
she did just that. She pulled herself up from the spot she was sitting on, and began to slowly walk to the frustrated boy.
She stopped when she were just infront of him."Zuko?" she started. "Are you okay? What happend?"
He let out a growl and looked up at the beautiful girl before him. Zuko was confused, where had she come from? Why was she here?
"I'm okay." He said sternly. Katara sat down next to him and put one hand on his shoulder.
"No, you're not. It is pretty obvious. But don't you worry, whatever happend... it will be all right." she tried to make him feel better, but he just got more frustrated.
"What? Wait how- how kan you know it will be okay? I bet they all hate me now, I just know it, and don't you dare try to make me feel better it would God damn work--"
"Zuko... calm down."
"Why are you doing this? Why are you always so nicw to me?" Zuko remembered those times when Katara used to hate him with all her heart, and all this made him confused.
"People like you should be treated nicely. You need someone to be nice to you or you will be the same Zuko you were before.""I- I, uh..." Zuko looked down at the ground, feeling himself getting calmer. Her precsense usually always made him feel better. He looked up at her face again, only to get caught by her gorgeous blue eyes.
"We should make out." he said lowly. He hadn't meant to say that out loud but when he did, Katara crashed her lips against his. Zuko was shocked at first but he slowly sunk into the kiss and wrapped his strong arms around her waist, dragging her closer.
'Finally...', they both thought.
