It was a perfect relationship when you and Kaito first started going out with each other. Weekly date, waking up every morning by one another's side, kisses and cuddles when both of you have a day off and will preferably enjoy staying indoors. You and him were happy together but... when did it go wrong? Both of you were fine during the first 3 years together, however everything change when he returned home one day from a heist.

Kaito became distant. He hardly smile anymore and the dates you will always look forward into gradually stopped. It was as if Kaito became tired of everything. The magic tricks he usually enjoys turn into something that will pissed him off. Not only that but the unknown anger that has been bottling up inside of him was targeted and released towards you.

You were confused yet you still accepted all the hurtful things he would say to you. Kaito will never, despite how furious he is, hit you physically which was a glimpse of hope that maybe everything will return back to normal.

You were wrong.

"Be careful alright? This might actually be the one so they will definitely be there."

You whispered those words softly while giving him a smile. Kaito, who is already wearing Kaitou Kid's suit, stood still in front of you, staring at you as if he wanted to say something but chooses not to. What was he gonna say? Will he finally say those words you have been longing to hear? Or will he say something else instead that will break your heart into pieces? Sadly yet thankfully, he didn't said anything that you were expecting him to, however what he did next surprised you.

When he suddenly pulled you into his arms, it felt like everything he had done to you for those 4 months disappeared into thin air. Kaito didn't need to tell you anything because that hug alone was enough to tell you how much he loves and cherish you. You didn't know why but it felt like an empty hole is slowly growing in your chest, you were scared.. terrified that once you let him go, he will suddenly disappear.. But you needed to pull away.

One last time, you cup both of his cheeks and gave him a peck on the lips and softly whispered,

"I love you, be careful alright? I'll be waiting for your return."

Even though you only got a nod as an answer, it was more than enough as you watched him, leaving you alone in the home you two have been living into for 2 years. The longer you stare at the disappearing silhouette of your Lover, the more the hole in your chest continues to grow, as if this will be the last time you will ever see him...

"Please, come back home safe Kaito..."

Kaito was scared. He didn't know what will happened to you the moment he turned his back on you, it was a painful choice but he needed to, he has to for your safety. The heist he arranged four months ago was a huge mistake he made when Snake suddenly appeared at the scene. He was confused, why is he there when the jewel is hardly not even close to being Pandora? And then, he said something that made his mask dropped to the ground.

"I see that you have took over your father's duty, Kuroba Kaito-kun."

His mind was filled with questions he wanted to asked to the man in front of him. How did he found out? When did he figured out his identity? Is his father still alive? But there is only one thing that has stood out the most in those questions,

"Will Y/n be alright?"

Kid stopped on his track. While he hears the loud orders of Nakamori-keibu in the building they're currently in, he was distracted, did he made the right choice of not telling you anything? About his plan and the reason for his harsh behaviors he has towards you? He frowned and continued on while disguised as a Task Force.
