"... Are you alright?"

"Of course I am~! I'm getting this close in confessing to her!"

"Dude, that's already the fifth time you've said that and you're still being chased by a mop."

It was already unbearable to see how Kaito is being beaten to death by a mop earlier and now he still insisted that he can confess to Aoko? You don't know if your friend is being serious right now but all you could do for now is patched up the bruises on his face while listening to his blabbering. It's already been 3 years since you started hanging out with Kaito along with Aoko and honestly? it's been a blast!

Ever since you were young, you've been the type of kid that everyone can get along with. Your outgoing personality really helped however the teasing cannot be avoided when you started to hit your teen years. You weren't exactly the girly type so rumors had spread that you're interested in girls but honestly speaking, they were wrong. You just felt comfortable to wear casual clothes and most of the time, male clothing but that has nothing to do with your sexuality. Even when you started attending Ekoda High the rumors continued but that didn't stop Kaito and Aoko on befriending you.

"L/n F/n right? I'm Kuroba Kaito! We were just about to grab some lunch and we wanna invite you, if you don't mind."

"Really?? I'm the rumored person you know-"

"Who cares~, those are just rumors after all and if they were right that doesn't make us wanna befriend you less."

After that day you're finally part of his group of friends. You weren't an outcast or anything like that, you indeed can get along with others despite the rumors but you didn't belong to any group of friends which can be really lonely sometimes. 

During those 3 years of being with them, you started to developed some feelings for Kaito. You didn't want anyone to find out so you did your best with hiding these deep into your heart, especially knowing the fact that Kaito already has someone to give his heart to.

"I know I know but It's not that easyyy. What if she already have someone she likes? Worse, what if it was someone I know? Like.." Kaito looked at you for a second and there, you knew what he was thinking. Irritated, you pour the disinfectant alcohol on his bleeding knee he got from Aoko as he lets out a very "manly scream".

"Y-You demon! I was just kidding!!" Kaito exclaimed while hugging his knee close to his chest, blowing lightly on the wound while shooting you a playful glare. This made you laughed as you apologized and continued patching him up. It had once crossed your mind to try and confess to Kaito but something is holding you back, except for the reason that he already has someone he likes. It's the fact that you are.. You.

Who would want to date someone who acts and behaves like a guy? I mean yeah you can still fangirl and such but even Kaito thought that Aoko might've like you, even if it's just a joke he doesn't even see you as a girl.. right?

After finishing up and packing everything to get ready to go home, Kaito suddenly stopped you by grabbing your wrist which took you by surprised. The seriousness in his eye made you nervous and for some reason your heart won't stop beating fast. Good lord calm down! You thought as you tried your best not to hit your chest.

"Say.. are you free this weekend?"

"I think I'm starting to regret this.." You whispered to yourself as you walked back and forth on your spot, waiting for a certain magician.

You felt like an idiot for getting excited when Kaito suddenly asked you to be his practice date for when he will finally had the courage to asked Aoko out. You knew that this is just a pretend date but still, you felt butterflies in your stomach.. which is still something you regretted!! Kaito said that you can wear anything but why did you freaking choose a dress you're not even used at wearing?!
