It wasn't supposed to end like this, you two were already the perfect couple and the only step left was for Kaito to kneel down with one knee in front of you but...it seems like fate has another plan for the both of you. It was painful to see him in those white tuxedo, his hair perfectly comb despite it still looking quite messy but still as handsome as ever, those smile..it was supposed to be meant for you but you're not the reason for those sweet smile you've always love. But you have to be strong, you need to be strong for his happiness even if it means you'll live your whole life in despair. 'As long as he's happy, I'm happy.' Well, are you? For him yes but for you? It was breaking you apart, that the girl beside him at the altar isn't you.

"You May Now Kiss The Bride"

One of the most awaited moment in every wedding but the most terrifying for you...ahh...they finally sealed it, how you wish you raised your hand during the question for objection but you couldn't do that, not to him, she's Kaito's happiness now and not you.. The claps and cheers of the guest as they stand up for the bride and groom, you couldn't stand up even if you wanted to so.. you remained seated on your sit, clapping silently along with the guest without them knowing or seeing the heartbroken ex lover of the magician, quietly shedding tears whispering congratulations for him. 

"Congratulations, Kaito, Aoko-chan.."

"Hey Kaito? Did you regret asking me out? I mean, I'm not that pretty and definitely not the smartest in class so.. why me?"

"You may not be the prettiest in the eyes of others but for me? You're the most beautiful girl I have set my eyes on. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as they say. And even if you may not be the smartest, what really matters to me is what's inside here." Kaito then pointed to your heart as he grinned widely. 

He's really the type to say those kind of stuff but what he said on that day really means a lot to you, even till these day when you two are not together anymore. The memories both of you made are the only things that keeps you living but also.. a poison that's slowly killing you as time passes by. If only there was a way to relive those memories over and over again, the reality of not being with him anymore is just killing you inside. 

"Y/n-chan..." A soft whisper from someone made you turned around to see your childhood friend, Ran, along with Shinichi, as both of them look at you with sadness in their eyes. You gave them a reassuring smile though both of them know that you're not fine at all. They've been with you ever since you were little, you were the little sister that they cared for so much that it's really unbearable to see you so heartbroken but... it's not like they can do anything but comfort you, they did everything they can but to no avail, nothing work. 

"I'll be fine so don't worry okay? I'll eventually.. move on.."

"All of us know that you wouldn't be able to. That's how important he is in your world, Y/n. " Shinichi says as he placed his coat around you then gave Ran a look which she understood as she answered with a nod. Ran made her way to the bride and groom across the reception hall to tell about their early departure while the detective escorts you to his car. Shinichi is worried that you'll end up having an emotional breakdown here and he doesn't want that to happen, at least not here where he's around.

Moments later, Ran returned back and Shinichi was about to get ready to drive off but stopped when he realizes that she's not alone. 

"What is he doing here? She didn't invite him to say goodbye now did she?"

And as if reading his mind, Ran gave him a worried look indicating that Kaito went along with her. You were inside the backseat when somebody knocked on the windshield causing you to look at the groom outside with a grinned on his face. You smiled, even despite it being force you wanted to send him off with a smile. Rolling down the windshield you were taken aback as the magician handed you a pink rose.
