Parker's POV

A deep sigh escaped from my lips as I turn off my car. Starring right at the white garage door that was once meant to be my temporary home for the school year. Lyla and I had plans to live here together for our last year of college.

We spent so many nights staying up way too late in our tiny dorm. Fantasizing about the ragers we would throw once we got our off campus house. We toured the place together this time last year.

After the shutdown I knew the chances of my living in this house were slipping away. I just couldn't afford it anymore, but Lyla was able to sign the lease and was living there with another one of our mutual friends. I'm just happy that she was able to live here. Even if it meant I wouldn't be here with her.

I zipped up my coat before pushing the button to open the trunk of my car. Trying to move as quickly as I can with my bag to the front door. The cold morning air feeling like blades flying across my skin.

I barely even got the chance to knock on the door because it flew open the second my fist hit it. I forgot how hyper she can be. Its like she woke up and immediately took a shot of espresso or something.

"Parker, you don't know how much I missed you!" She screamed out as she pulled me in for a tight hug.

"I missed you too. I feel like we have so much to catch up on, it's been ages since we've seen each other." I held her out at arms length as we spoke to take in the features I hadn't seen in person for so long.

"You've been hanging out with celebrities and I've been making out with frat boys. Can we switch?" We both laugh at her comment and she gestures for me to come into the warm house.

The place was just as nice as I remembered it to be. White walls with dark wood floors. They kept the color scheme neutral with a few pops of color here and there to keep the place from being too sterile and boring.

"I love the yellow pillows! You know I love a pop of yellow." I comment as I give myself a tour of the house.

"We just went ahead with all the stuff you already had picked out. That's probably why you like it so much. It was your wishlist." She chimes in. Following close behind me with my bag as we walk down the short hallway to her side of the house.

The small one story house had a two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a half bathroom by the kitchen for guests. It was perfect. A bedroom on either side of the house with an open floor plan for the living and kitchen space.

"No wonder this place looks so good." I say proudly.

"So the party isn't for a few hours which means we have time to catch up, get food and then pre game while we get ready. I need to hear all about your new man." Lyla rambles as she plops down onto her barely made bed. In the 4 years I have known her she has never once had a properly made bed. If it was made you knew her mom was probably coming to visit.

"I literally text you everyday. You know all there is to know about my relationship." I lay back onto the bed. Kicking off my shoes so I could put my feet up.

"I barely got to hear out the trip though. You barely talk about how this man rented out an entire island for the two of you." She shoves my arm gently, waiting for a proper explanation.

"I wish I was still there. It was amazing. I still can't believe how he planned all that without me knowing. We basically had a schedule for each day. I think we did every activity that the island had to offer. We went paddle boarding like three times and went horseback riding during sunset. The whole thing was magical and I can't believe it really happened. You're making me miss him now." A smile creeps onto my face as I think back on the vacation.
