My precious 🙌🏽

So my phone broke two days back and I can't express in words how much I miss it 🤧😫 (If you've ever had a broken phone you would understand the struggle I'm talking about.)

I'm the kind of person who generally spends almost all of my time with my phone in hand. I don't just depend on it for entertainment but for work purposes too. Oh not only that by the way. My phone is literally like my bestfriend. In some ways it is also my therapist because whenever I feel mad or sad I only communicate it with my Notes app 😥 Therefore, no wonder it has been very hard without it and I have been feeling terrible since the time it stopped working.

The other thing is, as you know, I haven't posted chapters for any of my stories in over 2 months 😶 I have been trying to write but it just won't happen like earlier. Either I have lost my writing skills as a whole or I guess I'm having the worst writer's block ever. Somehow, with my phone not functioning, it's only going to get worse 😐 So yeah, I don't know when I'd continue my novels again. Till I do, please hang in there readers and pray for me to get out of this stupid phase 😕

Anyway, my sad story aside, here's what I wanted to share today. If you've read my previous post on this book, you probably know about 2 of my nieces who gave me business ideas last time. The same duo also suggested something after my phone broke and it is too sweet to be not recorded somewhere, so that's why I decided to write this 🤗♥️

*Me trying for the umpteenth time to make my phone work and looking disappointed when all my efforts go futile*

6-year old niece: Why are you sad?

Me: My phone is broken.

6-year old niece: Don't worry. I will give you my Eid savings to buy a new phone.

Me: Really? All of it?

6-year old niece: Yeah.

Me: Thank you baby.

6-year old niece: Wait, I will send a voice note and ask her (the 9-year old niece) whether she would like to give some money too.

*After a while, I receive a phone call from my 9-year old niece*

9-year old niece: What happened to your phone?

Me: *explains*

9-year old niece: How much would it cost to get it fixed?

Me: I dunno. I am sending it to Colombo today. After that only I will know.

9-year old niece: Okay, find out and tell me. I will give you whatever I have from my Eid savings.

Me: You are giving me money to buy a new one?

9-year old niece: No, to get it fixed. My mama says it will generally cost 5000 to get a phone fixed. Maybe for an iPhone it might be 10,000 then. I will give you that.

Me: Thank you baby! Let's see what the phone guy in Colombo says first.

*Later in the evening, I again try pressing the buttons on my phone with hopes of making it work*

6-year old niece: Why are you doing that? I told you I will buy you a new one.

Me: Will you really give me all of your money? Then what about the plans you had? Mom was telling me something.

6-year old niece: *looks at my sister expecting an explanation*

My sister: You wanted to buy a bicycle with that, remember?

6-year old niece: Ah yes yes! But I have money in my tin also. Remember mama?

My sister: You mean your till?

6-year old niece: Yes

My sister: So, which money are you going to give her for the phone?

6-year old niece: *thinks* The one in the till

*My sister and I break into laughter and I get back to the room. My niece follows me and does the sweetest thing*

6-year old niece: *Offers me her till with coins* This is for you

6-year old niece: *Offers me her till with coins* This is for you. Buy a phone now.

Me: Thank you baby!

6-year old niece: *points towards another till on top of the cupboard* I'm sure I have some money in that also. Can you get that for me?

*I don't believe her at first because I've never seen her saving money in the other till. I fetch it for her anyway*

6-year old niece: *shakes the till and hears the sound of paper money inside* See? I told you. Take this also.

Me: Thanks darling!

6-year old niece: *after a while, enters my parents' room while I talk to them and puts some coins in my hand* I found this in my purse. This is also for you.

Honestly, my nieces are the best! ♥️🤧 Not a day goes by without me shouting at them for some mischief they do but they never hold on to grudges 😌 They are always loving towards me and never fail to make me feel special during my saddest moments 🤗 I feel truly blessed to have such beautiful souls in my life 😍

I don't know whether we will be always this close but if we ever grow apart, I hope they read this some day and realise how much they have contributed to my happiness at some point in my life, and also know that I love them with all my heart now and forever ☺❤
