Y/n had tragically perished in a car crash.
Miles couldn't bear the news.

Ah, just fucking around. Here's part 3.

-

A month had passed.
There was still no word from Y/n to Miles.

Miles wasn't sure of what else he could say to her. What else was there to say that could make her come back to him?

He just wanted to beg her over and over again to return, but he didn't.
Instead, he wrote her a poem.

My dearest,

If it makes you less sad
I will die by your hand

Hope you find out what you want
Already know what I am

If it makes you less sad
We'll start talking again
You can tell me how vile
I already know that I am

I'll grow old
Start acting my age
Be a brand new day
In a life that you hate

A crown of gold
A heart that's harder than stone
And it hurts a whole lot
But it's missed when it's gone

I'm glad that you can forgive
Only hoping as time goes,
You can forget

If it makes you less sad
I'll take your pictures all down
Every picture you paint
I will paint myself out

You are calm and reposed
Let your beauty unfold

Spring keeps you ever close
You are second hand smoke

You are so fragile and glinn
Standing trial for my sins

Holding onto yourself
The best that you can

You are the smell before rain
You are the blood in my veins

...

"Miles!" Flora called from across the field while waving a piece of paper in the air.

"Yeah, Flor?"

"You have a letter!"

Miles instantly dropped the brush and rushed out of the stables over to her.

"It's from Y/n! For you!"

"And look at the postcard and pictures she sent me! San Francisco is so cool! I wanna go!"

He let Flora ramble about what Y/n had sent her as he frantically ripped open the envelope and unfolded the letter.

Dear Miles,
I apologize for not writing you back. I just needed time. I hope you understand. I've read your beautiful poem. It is greatly appreciated. Who knew you were such an outstanding poet? You are a good man, Miles. And I believe you will overcome your struggles. I accept your apology but I'm afraid to say that I can't come back to you just yet. Who knows? Maybe you'll come across another and you'll discover that I wasn't the one for you. If we are meant to be, we will be brought together again. I hope all is well and again, I wish you nothing but the best.
Love, Y/n
