The gag looks sturdy, but with a bit of work, and possibly some pain, should come off.
You prepare yourself for the shock and smash one of the spikes against it. After getting over the jarring pain, you attempt to cross your eyes to see if it did any damage. It didn't, and now you're dizzy. You smash it a few more times, every time sending shockwaves of pain through your snout. Eventually, the spike snaps in half, and hadn't left much but a few scratches.
