Meanwhile, Wasuke (Wile E coyote) was now in front of Ryu's (roadrunner) house after he had to wait so long for an excuse to leave work on top of making a quick stop at his own place to make the Zosui soup.
A few minutes after he had knocked on the door of the one story minka (traditional Japanese style house), Ryu then opened the door with a weak smile on his face as if a really bad cold finally caught up to him.
He was wearing a gray kimono style sleepwear with matching slippers.
His face was hollow and pale from lethargy, possibly from not eating any nutrients for days.
His eyes had a darkening under shade from a lack of sleep and was puffy around the lids from crying for who knows how long.
Wasuke wanted to hug him so bad, but stood his ground for a moment more while still gripping onto his homemade soup nervously in his hands.
He had to make sure that Ryu was alright and in a good proper standard of health before he can even think about questioning him and attempting to diagnose his serious illness.
"Hey Ryu. I know I'm a little bit early but I thought that you could use the company." Wasuke said as he gave him his best smile that is truly covering up his deep pain inside.
"That's very thoughtful of you Wasuke but you didn't have to come all the way over here in such a rush. I'm fine." Ryu said, hoping to not worry him too much as he lets him inside and shuts the door behind him.
The two then begin to sit comfortably on their knees at a nearby futon floor mattress as Wasuke hands him his soup.
"No, you are not fine. You need nourishments, rest, and a good ole cup of tea to keep you all warm and cozy. Plus, somebody has to be here to check your temperature so we can make sure that you are well fit to work tomorrow." Wasuke insisted.
"Haha, thank you. You really are too kind." Ryu complimented, with a smile that was just a little bit brighter than before but not as completely shining.
"Of course, that's what friends are for, right? I'm gonna make you some tea. I'll be right back." Wasuke said, patting Ryu on the shoulder as he got up for a minute and heads to the kitchen to brew some Shoga-yu (hot ginger tea) tea.
"Right, friends." Ryu mumbled as he started eating his soup slowly.
He wasn't hungry, but needed to have something in his stomach if he was ever going to get any better.
Except that soup can't exactly solve all of his problems right away.
He figured that he might as well tell him before his all of his self-doubts start to tear him up inside.
At least then, even if it ends badly, he would be honest with him.
He owes it to him that much for all of the friendly gestures that he has given him since the first day they met.
His aspiring mentorship and his gentle, loving affection to those around him is what truly stole his heart.
When Wasuke finally came back into the room, he was holding a steaming cup of tea and notices instantly that the soup was almost gone.
"Oh good, you've already eaten the soup. Did you like it? It was my grandmother's recipe but I'm not even sure if I put enough ingredients in there or not. I'm not really the best with cooking. I tried." Wasuke said rubbing his neck anxiously as he hands him his tea.
"Its okay, I like it. Thank you." Ryu said as he holds onto his teacup firmly, which caused a transfer of its heat onto his hands.
He then, puts the cup down on the table right next to them and decides to tell him.
