Chapter 21

Later, P.E class started as the class lines up for their daily as Daffy enters the gym area and sees that Porky along with Lola and Sylvester are all in distress. 

When they notice Daffy's arrival, they turn to him with heavy sad looks on their face. 

"Hey guys....wait where's Bugs? Doesn't he always come here early?" Daffy asked, confused. 

"He left school. We couldn't find him, we've looked everywhere." Sylvester explained. 

"What?" Daffy asked in shock, his head spinning. 

His face paled up all of a sudden and his heart was dropping so fast, that he thinks he's going to pass out any moment. 

"Yeah, that was my fault. I pushed him into talking to you and then he got so upset, that he just got up and left." Porky said, rubbing his neck while looking down on the ground in guilt. 

"We're so sorry. Maybe after school, we can help you find him." Lola suggested. 

"T...that's okay Lola. Let's just through with this class. I'm gonna go home anyways after this. I... don't think I feel too well." Daffy said while looking away, pained. 

Sylvester, Lola and Porky then all looked at each other and nodded as the coach enters the room to start class.

After gym was over and on a short notice too due to Futoshi's high concern for Daffy's health, Daffy then walks towards random direction into town. 

His mind full of thought and sorrow. 

He didn't want to go home yet. 

He just wanted to be alone right now as he continues to move on forward with his unplanned strolling until he felt a sudden ping struck his heart. 

As if it was telling him to be somewhere else. 

He closed his eyes and thought about where he could go that can make him feel like home and at peace when he doesn't have much left to turn to.  

Then, a nostalgic place came into mind as he opened his eyes up and sighed.  

Maybe... He thought while heading to his favorite spot in the Fukuoka Gardens within Ohori Park. 

The place where he could go to when he feels like he had lost all hope.

 By the time he got there, it was late at night as Daffy enters into the Garden with endless thoughts and worries in his mind. 

He felt so lost and wanted to cry. 

Why...do I keep pushing people away? What is it that I'm so afraid of? Hurt?.... Betrayal? I didn't even give him a chance to talk about it with me and I just keep messing everything up and now....I'm.... Daffy thought as he walked into his favorite spot, where the lone tree sat near the shallow lake and froze. 

He was not alone. 

There standing by his tree, watching the sky above, was Bugs. 

Daffy continued to stand very still, not moving a single inch as Bugs, who felt like someone was there, turned around and smiled at him. 

His face, unnoticedly stained with small streams of tears. 

The two stood their ground for what felt like a long time until finally Bugs decides to be the one to walk on toward him. 

When him and Daffy were face to face, Daffy then spoke up, his face growing bright red and welled up with tears.

"What are you doing here?" Daffy asked. 

Bugs didn't say anything, instead just wrapped his arms around Daffy's neck and hugged him tight.

The tensions soon start to ease and melt slowly as Daffy wrapped his arms around Bug's waist to secure the hug that he had longed for all those two weeks that he had mistakenly wasted over their fight. 

"Please... don't hide from me anymore. I miss you.... Daiki."  Bugs whispered to Daffy, who froze in response. 

The last word, his first name, had chilled him to the core as tears started immediately running down his face.

In Japan, the only people who call each other by their first names are either really close friends or...because they care about them so much, that they are more than that.

"I miss you too...Benjirou. I'm so sorry that I drove you away like that. I....." Daffy quivered softly and frantically, his body shaking until the next few words interrupted him and calmed him down.  

"Ai shite iru (I love you)." Bugs soothe as they locked eyes for a moment before he pulls him closer and kisses him gently on the lips.

Their own world, colliding under the lone cherry blossom tree.

The two, now lying next to each other on the grass again with their hands held firmly, decided to watch the stars together and talk for a few more minutes before they have to head on home. 

"I'm really sorry for lying to you. For now on, I'm going to be completely honest and upfront with you. Starting with our first trip together for summer sports camp." Bugs said smiling. 

"What about your collage in The States?" Daffy asked, curiously. 

"I'm not going to America. I'm staying right here in this beautiful town with you. There are other collages that I can go to for my engineering degree." Bugs replied. 

"Are you sure that's what you want? I don't want to be the reason why you can't go. I mean we can try to work it out long distance and I can wait for you." Daffy suggested as Bugs turns over to him and leans their body closer while grasping both of his hands with Daffy's.  

"Daffy, I can't be without you for another second. I am willing to stay here with you and not just because I have to but its because I want to. Besides, I promised that I would see my boyfriend play his first game together when he becomes a future coach for Japan." Bugs said with a smirk. 

"Haha, so now we're dating?" Daffy asked, rhetorically with a small laugh. 

"Of course. Why? Did you want us to stay friends?" Bugs teased. 

"No! I mean we can still be friends but we can also be more than that. I was just saying that..." Daffy tried to explain until Bugs interrupted him. 

"I'm just messing with you." Bugs said as the two share a longer kiss and enjoy the rest of evening together.
