Chapter 9:

Kayleen's POV

We just got off the bus. Why do we even have to be in somewhere private? I mean, it's not that serious right?

"Uhm, Braeden?" I called him.

"Hmm? Why?" he asked.

"Why are we going to the forest? Have you even been there? What if we get lost?" I asked nervously.

"Why? Are you scared?" he said wiggling his eyebrows.

"O-of course not!" I said a little too fast.

"Uhuh." he said unconvinced.

We walked deeper into the woods where almost all the light was blocked out by the trees.

"U-um, Braeden? A-are we there yet?" I said. Okay when I said I wasn't scared was a lie. In fact, I'm terrified.

"Braeden, I think this is enough, no one will hear us now." I said

He didn't answer me. Why? What is he gonna do? What's gonna happen? Is he- No, he isn't.

I was too preoccupied to realize that we were in a clearing.

"Uhm, Braeden? What are we doing here?" I asked him.

"Just watch." he said.

I did as he said. I watched until the sun sets. It was beautiful. So breathtaking.

When the sun was down, he started to glow.

"Braeden?!" I said running to him.

I heard the breaking of bones and saw that he was crouching. But he didn't even shout or scream out of pain. I looked away because I can't bear seeing him like this. Suddenly, the popping of bones stopped. I looked at him. No, I looked at the huge thing.

"Aaaaaaaaaah!" I screamed falling down because of fear.

The thing stalked forward. Now I saw what it was. It was a huge tiger.

"P-please don't." I whispered putting my hands in front of my face. As if it would protect me. I started crying.

Then it started whimpering. It went nearer and brushed it's fur againts me. It kneeled down in front of me lowering it's head like asking for me to pet it. I nervously put my hand in front of me and started petting it. The fur was so smooth, I felt the sparks I felt whenever Braeden accidentally touches me. Then I stopped. Wait, where's Braeden? What happened to him? Did this-? Wait, the popping of bones...he started glowing.

"B-braeden?" I asked.

The tiger looked at me as if it understood me. But by the looks of it, it does. I think it is expecting me to say something.

"Is that y-you B-braeden?" I asked. It started nodding it's head.

"Is this what you said about me being the same as you?" I asked nervously. It nodded it's head again.

"O-oh, okay. You know what? I'm getting dizzyyyyy..." I said slurring a bit.

Black dots started clouding my eyes. Then I heard a muffled voice.

"Kayleen..."

Then I blacked out.
