Chapter 7: Does He Know?

Kayleen's POV

Sigh, time flies so fast. It's almost P.E. time. My favorite subject of all times, yey for me!!*note the sarcasm

"Okay class, I'll give you an assignment, make a Data Retrieval Chart about blah blah blah and blah." my teacher said. Most of my classmates were groaning of course the nerds didn't. And we copied some criteria and stuff. Ughh I hate assignments. Don't you guys agree?

I finished copying the homework we had to do just in time the bell rang. I went outside to see Illiana waiting for me. We had P.E. together that's why. We went to our lockers to put our things that are not needed for P.E. then we went to class. We were inside the gym before the bell even rang. We changed our clothes, of course in the locker room and went outside to see that some students were starting to warm up. Illiana and I went to our places then started to warm up too.

"Okay class, now that we're done warming up, let's go outside." our gym teacher said. Uh oh, I think I know what exactly were going to do.

"Now, listen up. We will do a 1000-meter run. Get ready." Ugh just as I thought. I really hate these kinds of outdoor activities. Why wouldn't I be? I am actually the class's slowest runner.

"The first to cross this line, will be excempted from the quiz." Oh no, not again.

"Ready, get set, go!" we started to run. Illiana, being my best friend, waited for me. We started running and talking at the same time. As time passed by, I noticed that I wasn't even catching my breath! I started to run faster, of course with Illiana by my side. We passed by some of our classmates and they stared at me shocked that I actually ca catch up to them. I, myself, am shocked too!

"Hey, Kayleen! Have you been practicing?" Illiana said.

"Uhhhh...no?" I said.

"Hmmm. Well then, race ya'!" she said.

"Wait, what?" I said running after her.

She was actually so fast. Was that even normal? I ran and ran passing by my other classmates who had shocked faces too. It wasn't long until I reached her and tapped her on the shoulder. She looked shocked. We ran side by side until we finnished. And guess what? We were the first ones to finnish the run. I was catching my breath a little but not like last time. I even sweat just a little. What's happening?

"Whoah, Kayleen! Have you been practicing? You like, beat your record! I mean from 5 minutes to only 3!" my teacher said looking at her records.

"Umm, no ma'am, I haven't." I said. Oh shucks, is this what she told me? I mean like what she means by changing?

"Uh, then what did you do?" she asked.

"I don't know." I told them honestly.

"Come on Kayleen, you can't beat your record just by doing nothing!" Illiana told me.

"I really didn't do anything! You know me Illiana, I don't lie!" I told her.

"Yes, I know you don't. Let's not talk about this anymore." she said.

I released my breath that I didn't know I was holding. Then I saw Braeden smirking and looks amused. Wait what? Braeden? What is he doing here? I didn't even know he was here or even if he was my classmate during P.E. time. But most of all, why is he smirking or even looked amused? Does he know?
